And thats why you guys are not Lions captains! There was only one winner in a battle of egos out there...and he wasnt wearing gold or red. Warburton did say his piece but why whinge...the Southern hemisphere lads always adapt to the ref. The starting 15 did just that (maybe the subs should have paid more attention before coming on though)
What's with the Sam bashing? He did well and also reminded the ref about our penalty should our try not stand. As for the so called forward pass. ..... His hands aimed the ball backwards, therefore classed as backward.
We knew before the game as it was talked about that the first game will be the hardest game because it is reffed by a southern hemisphere referee, I thought we played very well and the 68% of possession never produced the points it deserves, the mistakes with both teams were to be expected with such a high profile game and the aussies made it more difficult by keeping their team under wraps and hidden from prying eyes, we won the game and that's what counts and the next game should have the players more settled and go on and produce more tries and make all the possession count a bit better. Im not expecting too many changes other than the ones who took a few knocks...It was job done as far as im concerned and i still favour a 3-0 whitewash...
An Australian commentry on Norths uber try.. And it looks like James Horwill was a very naughty boy, "Taxi for Horwill. Hardly befitting of a captain, or soon to be ex-captain. This is the clearest footage I have found. The same player was let off with a warning for a similar thing just a few months ago. IRB recommend 3 to 9 weeks for such an offence. The guy has been caught "red footed" and should be looking at 4 weeks out. Sweet sweet victory, particularly as we were nearly cheated out of it. Yesterdays ref was a sham but I'm just as concerned with next weeks whistle blower Craig Joubert . He's the same SA ref who officiated the penalty fest between Wales and Scotland in this years 6N. That was the worste refereeing performance I've ever witnessed and was heavily criticise on rugbyrefs.com, a referees blog site, after that game. IMHO Craig Joubert is THE worst international ref there is and I fear for next weeks game as a spectacle and for a fair result. O.N.... Corbisiero out for rest of tour and there's a rumor that POC has broken his arm. Lions medical staff waiting for scans etc.
The australian rugby forums are reporting Horwill was found not guilty. That stinks. Up there with the OJ decision!
If POC has broken his arm it might explain why Ian Evans is on the bench for tuesday instead of playing as Parling is to light to partner AWJ in the boiler room, so we might see an all Welsh second row next Saturday.
Disgracefull desicion by the citing people. They accepted his statement that it was a accident and he was off balance. Was deliberate and well aimed at AWJ. The guy should be now watching the rest of the Lions tour. But after watching how onesided the refereiing was, I didnt expect anything less than for him to get off.
Wales under 20s are doing us proud in the Junior World Cup Final. Half time and they are leading England by 15 to 3. England scored a last minute try just before half time but an eagle eyed touch judge called it back after spotting an illegal knee, resulting in the try being disallowed and England down to 14 men for the start of the 2nd half. Cmon lads!!! 40 minutes to make yourselves World Champions!!!! Its on sky sports 2 if you fancy watching tomorrows stars possibly doing something special
Anybody watching the u20s on S4C? Currently 15-3 up at half time in the world cup final against England with the English down to 14 men on the stroke of half time
