This probably applies to any club anywhere tbf. Could be a complete shambles but, a little bit of success and the ills are forgotten. At least for a while.

Could be worse though. He could sell to Venkys.

There are some Newcastle United fans who do go quiet when things are going well on the pitch.

Others, like myself, continue to hate Mike Ashley with a passion. Of course, it would bore people to tears if I wrote nothing but anti-Ashley threads all day, every day.

Even Alan Shearer can see that Ashley & Kinnear are making this club into a laughing stock...
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22982306

As mentioned earlier, I am still in a stay-away protest from SJP while the fat, vile, stinking ****er drags Newcastle United through the dirt.

The whole 'Sports Direct Arena' farce was just another slap in the face for the Geordie faithful... one which I loath the fat bastard for even now.
Ironic that a morally-vacant company like Wonga should return SJP with it's proper name.

All that said, I think you should be more concerned about the relegation battle that both our clubs are going to be embroiled in this season. <ok>

Good luck with locating your ears.

    <cheers>

Mackem makes good point without using insults towards us.

Is told he is incest and has no ears.

I stopped paying attention to Newcastle United following the 3-0 thrashing we recieved from Sunderland. The fan reaction, was an absolute joke. You cannot claim, that we are NOW the laughing stock of the league due to Kinnear. We've been a laughing stock for years, everytime we "protest" and "boycott" the club, the league sniggers and laughs at our expense because "they're just some northern monkies" "deluded ****s".

People don't throw around the fact we're deluded, or idiotic for no reason. We've been acting according for years. Every season, we do not fail to make a fool out of ourselves. From the owner to the fans.

I may recieve hate for this, but sometimes I'm ashamed that I'm a Newcastle fan. Not often, but it happens. Sad times.

No reason to recieve hate for saying what you feel, but no need to be a Newcastle fan if you're ashamed of being one either.

I think you are are taking a jovial little bit of banter too seriously, as did Rokermicko. you're a sensitive soul.

That said he was factually incorrect though. Many many supporters were still openly expressing their disgust with the Ashley regime. I lost count of the number of posts on this board alone which started with "whilst I will never trust or like Ashley....." so he wouldn't have had to look or listen very hard to hear those voices of discontent he said he couldn't. Like many Sunderland fans, we have not seen or heard from, he is just jumping on the current media frenzy. If you can't spot that you're being a tad naive at best. Of course some fans change like the wind (I've said this very same thing many times, look at the Pardew situ). This is a trait of all fans, not just Newcastle though and is because of a passion for their team.

You're entitled to your opinion on being ashamed. I have never and will never be ashamed to be a Newcastle personally. Its a great club and yes I am completely biased. Part and parcel of being a supporter. Is the owner perfect? No. Is every member of the fanbase realistic? No Is every member of the fanbase a pillar of the community? No. Do we have some real PR gaffs along the way? Hell yeah. It doesn't change how I feel about our club though.

None of my friends personally told me that they were ever fine with St James Park being labelled by any other name. And none of my friends told me how pleased they were with the way we played either. Everyone was chuffed to bits that we ended up fifth top but we didn't believe that we were genuine champions league material.

With regards to the fat one, I can praise his excellent work in balancing the books. But I can't defend or justify his latest bunch of ideas. His total lack of dialogue is all we need to tell us we've a right to feel outraged and baffled by his plans which cause us very major concerns.

There's certainly no hate in my reaction to your post, but from it, it seems to me that you've only got a general interest in football, and Newcastle is the team you've got most interest in.

I can't see by your post that you're really a Toon fan mind, unless you mostly get your information about the club by the London based tabloids, which has given you a rather one-sided picture about our reaction to the shame we felt by the performance and team put out against Sunderland.

Not sure which part of the fans' reaction you call a joke. If it was the likes of the bloke punching the horse, well 52,000+ Toon fans up here were hardly backing that man's stupidity (infact we were embarrassed by it), but as I say, the tabloids probably sold 2 million extra papers thanks to that idiot on the back page (and many sold to possibly the likes of you, who accepted the myth).

It would be wrong of me not to point out to you that any club has not won proper silverware since the 1960's and yet gets the massive support it gets (8th top home support in the world), must have pretty amazing fans - and for you to label your fellow fans as deluded is rather poor - but your opinion is yours to share.

Unbelievable times, and for those mid 90's campaigns, even when we lost it was exciting (if not heart wrenching).
