In fairness Judey we've been laughing at your lot all week Ashley obviously fancies a big chunky parachute payment before he ****s off back to his lair you're going down quicker than a Thai prozzy
When not if, best of luck to the lad. Think he should be playing at a higher level that LFC can currently offer, butt I suppose you lot find that just as fruatrating, considering the size of club like LFC.
I always find the 'he should e joining a club aiming to win things rather than Liverpool' comments rather amusing. Its either a deliberate wum attempt or plain ignorance. If anyone thinks Liverpool don't aim to win things then they are severely mistaken! If I was a professional footballer, I'd much rather be part of a (for the sake of BR wording) project than join a team such as Man Utd (biased aside), Chelsea, Man City etc who win things regularly anyway. I'd rather help achieve something rather than just another cog in the machine.
Sleeping giant mate and we get back to being higher up the table and teams are fearful of coming to Anfield again a player can say im part of that I tell you what, im v optimistic with BR's transfers, I really trust his judgement to be fair
Roy Rodgers has signed an over the hill CB (Toure), another Borini (Alberto), an ordinary squad player (Aspas) and an overpriced goalkeeper (Mignolet). Add that to the average (Joe) Allen, his only decent signing looks like Coutinho and he could easily flop next season as PL defenders suss him out. This isnt business that will see Liverpool challenge the top 6 imo.
that was worth my time having to read that drivel. very apt user name, next time just type i think Liverpool are ****e, at least its straight to the fecking point!
Sturridge hasn't done too badly In fairness though you may well be right. Toure I have no issue with but we'll have issues if he has to play a large number of games. Decent back up though. Aspas and Alberto it's impossible to get excited about until we've seen them play regularly and Allen simply hasn't been good enough. Mignolet I do think is a decent keeper but simply won't suit the way Rodgers wants to play as well as Reina does. However there aren't many in the world who play the keeper/sweeper role (I just made that up...and I likey) as well as Pepe. What he can bring hopefully is an improvement where we were weak last year and that's from crosses and set pieces.
Pepe Reina said he is happy at Liverpool despite Liverpool signing Simon Mignolet . If he eventually leave he has been a very good servant to Liverpool Source:http://www1.skysports.com/football/...a-welcomes-prospect-of-Simon-Mignolet-arrival
Which of the world's elite clubs do you manage again? I've forgotten At least we have something to wake up for..
I really doubt Reina will be at the club as well as Mignolet. Imagine though... who better for Mignolet to learn the passing style from... than Reina himself!
didn't he say this couple of days ago before we had a bid accepted for Mignolet, or has he said this since ie specifically mentioned Mignolet? i remember him saying before hand or similar about happy to stay, but that could be interpreted a number of ways ie Valdes staying on so biding his time.
He has signed an experienced back up in Toure, for free. Better bit of business than Ryan Nelsen that's for sure. In Alberto, he has signed a young player who shone in La Liga Segunda Division. Doesn't mean he will be a success but if you're going to sign young talent you might as well go for the ones that stand out. Aspas, I don't know. But we didn't break the bank to get him. Thank god we didn't do a Carroll or Downing, I would bet that he is better option than both. Mignolet looks to be signed for a similar fee to Lloris, PL proven and has produced some great performances. All the above seem to be squad depth, first team if successful. Would help us out a lot just by keeping Downing and Shelvey off the bench. Won't get us top 4 but it's far from bad business. It's just as much of a risk than any of your average transfer dealings. Also on Coutinho, it's not his trickery that is his main strength. It's his eye for a defence splitting pass, which is very hard for defenders to 'suss out'.
Most clean sheets last season: 1. Hart - 18 2. Reina - 14 2. Cech - 14 4. Begovic - 12 5. Mignolet - 11 5. Jaaskelainen - 11 5. De Gea - 11 8. Howard - 10 8. Szczesny - 10 10. Lloris - 9 Well that shows two things, firstly De Gea proves the utd bias. Secondly, if anyone is average it is Lloris in 10th place, right in the middle. Mignolet managed 11 while fighting for survival in the league. Reina as usual is over rated......
