because we are losing out on our targets because jinx wants to do it all himself so he can get all the credit then we are in trouble. jinx knows nothing about players whatsoever and is on the prowl for the cheap option while dismissing laudrups targets who has been ear marked as players we actually need. jinx is looking at the £2-3 million mark players and that in our third season is going to send us back to the championship before you know it. If fans think this is the right way to do things then if we struggle (which we will ) then dont get on the managers back because he has told the club the type of players we need and if jinx ignores him and brings in players at the same level that we already have then it will be his fault 100%.....Nobody is asking the club to spend £15-£20 million on a player but to pay a level that we can afford just like the players we have missed out on...Even our own players are concerned about the season coming as they are mystified on the lack of ambition and going ons at the club. Its down right ridiculous that we are not professional enough to be ready and on the ball and trust the manager on the type of players he needs to do his job......He will soldier on and do his best but the chances of him keeping us in the premiership is greatly reduced and i hope he can do it .....I wont hold my breath as it stands today as we are going nowhere and we will be playing our first game in a few weeks time....A total shambles that will end in tears however much you try to KTF as they are just words.....Its action we need and quick...

It would appear that Christmas can't come quick enough for some .

Alejandro Pozuelo be new player of Swansea City this afternoon. As can advance STADIUM, the squad Betis and his agent have been negotiating for this morning the conditions of his new contract that will join Michael Laudrup's team for three seasons plus an option. In this way, the Danish coach gets hold of one of his specific requests, which has been following all season and even tried to sign him in the past winter market.

After the differences between the Triana and heliopolitana entity, the Welsh Betis offset by the departure of winger. Negotiations between player and Swansea have been carried out with the permission of the club Betis, trying to get the out as painless as possible. So the British will pay an amount of just over 500,000.

Both clubs are in right now across all relevant documentation for official sooner the new destination trianero footballer.

Dai - you are a little worry wart aren't you - we hadn't signed anyone at this stage last year either. We are trying to sign players but are still a small team so we are going to get targets poached by bigger fish.

I know you want everything NOW - we all do but that is not the real world, these things take time for a little team like us, and compromises need to be made - both by the manager and the board. Don't get your knickers in a twist yet, the window hasn't even officially opened, but do understand your impatience.

we kick off earlier than others dont forget and as leon says in the EP.." The players are still in the dark and just like the fans are concerned....this season of all seasons as we are in europe we should have some of our targets and not jinx's targets either in place and ready to start training....Its a poor state of affairs which ever way you look at it....

I would imagine a squad player more the first choice but he'll have plenty of opportunities during our foray into Europe .thats if the rumours are true

Cartoon If i dont point these things out then nobody will.....It must concern some fans even if they dont say it on here due to the bitching going on....take a look at other forums and you will see that fans are worried and pissed off with the way the club is handling our first season back in europe....And if the club dont want to tell us they should at the very least inform the players what is going on...

Sorry that was me ****ing about....<laugh> just joking!

We are all aware that anyone of us can change a wiki page right ??

Looks a good player i must say, what we are seeing is our squad players targeted but not our first choice players, there is also a big difference in age between Jenkins targets and Laudrups targets, unfortunatly there isnt much common ground, one party wants to think about young up and coming talent the other party finished seasoned pro's that will improve the team, alot is being left to chance but it is very early days .

Its fair to say that some people are beleiveing their own hype a bit too much <ok>

Are the players even back in training yet? I was under the impression they were to start back training July 1st? If this does go ahead and we do get this new guy today, then maybe gomis in the next week or so, then we will have 3 more players than we did at this stage last season. We already have 1 more.
There is no massive rush, we want to see new faces of course but just remain patient. You can't rush these things, it has to be right for the club and the player, and that takes time.

I know were all fustrated at the lack of activity, I'm the same as everybody. I'd like to see players coming in. The most important past is that we get the right players in of the right quality. Now if that does take time then I'll have to grin and bear it. Come on Huw hurry up and get some players in!!!

lumberjack- What i was told was what transpired a few days later and filtered out in the press but basically it came down to money, what Laudrups camp were led to beleive was that there would be significant funds availible to strengthen the squad for euro football and prem league progress, Bayram was out out to do buisness on our behalf but got extremely frustrated and over stepped the mark,he had a massive bust up with Jenkins and they apparently come to blows physically, though that bit is not clear it was alleged that he Jenkins around the throat!

All parties just want the best for the Swans, Laudrups camp feel that most of the targets were well within reach hence why they were sourced in the first place! Jenkins camp felt that some of the players mentioned didnt represent good value and he questioned the reasoning behind some of the deals. Jenkins feels that the swans can get by with signing un polished players and bringing up to standard while Laudrup feels that he needs the experience and finished article type player.

It has been said that since then there has been alot of posturing by both parties, some targets that were mentioned were not realistic and were floated to the media to highlight the shortcomings and apparent lack of ambition of the Swans, the boy from St Etienne was never really a starter for us but it was put out there to highlight the lack of ambition and embarrass the club into playing at a higher level.

The Swans board is not comfortable with big multi million pound deals and they are nervous about being put out of the comfort zone of £5m and under players. Bayram was willing to help the club but wanted to wheel and deal to get the better players in the club didnt want anyone making deals that could cost more than they felt comfortable with. Its a classic stand off situation but with the good intentions of Swansea city at everyones heart.

Lack of ambition or being prudent ??

There were issues of the club quite liking the idea of Laudrup moving on and getting paid compo, which would have been their chosen route, spome players are not 100% happy with some of the methods of Laudrup and have again bent the ear of the chairman, all in all there has been alot of **** flying around and its been nothing short of amatur by the Swans . An example of us being a shambles was a few weeks back, this is hearsay so not to be taken as truth but i know what i think! when Laudrup turned up at the Landore with some people (i was told it was canas and a few others but i dont know exactly) and he (laudrup) asked about where Jenkins was and has he been seen, the answer came as "No" , with that Laudrup and players /reps got back in the car and sped off, Jenkins turned up 10mins later in a flap and asked where laudrup was as he was late for a meeting with him,he then drove off inpursuit !! now for all i know this is total bollocks and the kind of rumour that does the rounds but i beleive it to be true,we are not professional enough as a club and we are starting to see the cracks appear.

We have local buisness people in charge who are overall doing a cracking job but we are so small minded that it is and has infuriated many people connected with the club. We need to grow as a club and as a buisness,we need to start wheeling and dealing and using contacts like Laudrup to the full,so what if it means paying a top La Liga player 50k a week ? strikers always earn more tthan the rest anyway! you cant get top quality strikers here and pay them the same as Ash williams !! players will come here, the area is a big draw, but then will not come here unless we are the only option left, the plan was to get in early and get things sorted out but when it got to the point of salary and package it was more like getting a star from La Liga to sign for a championship club !! they all want to play for Laudrup but they dont want to do it playing for less than half of what our rivals will pay.

One thing i will say, is that the Swans have done very well in playing hardball in the past, some of these players may be availible for 30% less in the next month, so as a prudent club the tendency will be to wait it out, problem with that is the chance of getting what you want becomes a gamble and you could end up with your 4th choice striker and not your first...which goes back to the origional point and that is the club not strengthening but just standing still.

I dont know what will happen but im hopeful some of the more experienced buisness people will see that we have a golden chance to cement the Swans in the prem league with the right investment,if we dont use Laudrups contacts now then we will never have a chance of tapping into such great talent in the future,he is the only reason we are getting intrest from La Liga players.

I can't believe Huw couldn't pick up the phone to tell ML he was stuck in traffic!! Surely not.

yes it seems we're still running the business as a small cottage industry and we do need to grow up a bit. The board are still learning and it will take time but it may be time for an experienced football head to join the board for a bit more guidance (no-one like Joe Kinnear though).

As for players wages then yes there's always a disparity between the players wages depending on position but I do like the way we structure our contracts based on how a player performs and more importantly how the team performs. This coupled with some strong relegation and buy-out clauses should be a must for us these days.

Yes, I want better players as good as we can get. Am i comfortable with paying players 50,000 a week, I dont think I am. If we can sign wth a relegation clause then I am probably happy with it. We have a wage structure and have to live with in it, as far as I m concerned to ensure the future safety of our club. (would any of us want to us to be in the same situation as those up the road). We have a small ground an low income compared to other PL clubs and as fans I think we have to remember that we can not always compete.

Signing players for big money and on big wages doesnt always work, Just ask the QPR lot.

I still believe though that we will more than break our record in regards to money spent on a single player this summer. Lets wait and see what happens. Keep the faith guys.
