I also expect people not to engage in low brow nationalism but I am surrounded by it all the time (Royal Birthday/Marriage/Baby ****e on public television for one). What we are stipulating here is that there is a hierarchy of acceptable jingoism, in which it is fine if your ****y-group-think Rule Britannia or Flower of Scotland type songs are not offensive to the majority, but if you have niche politics then you can be convicted for a mere public display. Read the actual lyrics of Boys of the Old Brigade and compare them to Flower of Scotland and ask yourself why is one more offensive or bigoted than the other.
You come across as a right sack Venom. 'Ahl post what ah like on the innernet but lock people up for singing a bad song at the fitba' Serious, there's worse things to be getting on with. Go get yer hole son
You mean we hold polarised opinions. If you don't wish to debate it, then fine. I find that stance to be unreasonable. Affecting legislation such as this in the manner they wish it to be is uqually unreasonable.
