I love the part of the statement that is :'It took into account that the FIA had given "qualified approval" to the test. ' So the FIA admit that they 'approved' the test!!!!!! So all the other teams need to do to get an in season test is get 'approval' from Charlie and the FIA Legal team!!!!! Can't imagine that muck up happening again can you? I believe that the whole tribunal was just a formality. That is why Merc didn't really defend their position. It was a done deal before the tribunal started!!! No body really looses face other than than the FIA and that doesn't really matter given their status
Yeah, I went to see the Indycars there years ago. 1 overtaking move for position all race. Thank goodness for the BTCC boys, and if Kyle is reading, one Lewis Hamilton went straight into the barriers right in front of me at Paddock Bend.
Good to see you, Manny! Clearly, this verdict is not sporting in any sense of the word. This is a political decision because the FIA didn't want to expose themselves further: how could the FIA come down hard on Mercedes without fingering themselves in the process? Of course it reflects badly on the sport but it is the weak and confused administration which comes out worst from this soap opera - but what did anyone expect?
I don't... This pantomime has been dragged out long enough. The FIA needs a overhaul so that punishments for breaking certain rules are already laid out beforehand and can be dealt out swiftly without all this tribunal crap. It really is ludicrous. All it needed was a mandatory 3 race ban for breaking in-season testing and no team would risk it.
yeah at least they have proper saloons though unlike BTCC/WRC which is just mainly silly little hatchbacks, and BTCC also has Jason Plato whining like a little bitch whenever he doesn't have the best car, which just completely ruins it for me. Motorsport really needs to either properly enforce rules with no bias towards certain teams/drivers or just have an open series with no restrictions on cars at all...or both.

I hope some of the other teams do some testing now, absolute joke of a decision, more about CYOA than about upholding the sporting regulations, whiting, Toad and everyone involved should do the decent thing and resign en masse, but of course they won't as none of them have any integrity whatsoever.
I like that Idea. The punishment for the 2 previous big tribunals also didn't marry up. Its like they go away and think what can we give them but not scare them away with.
Ruined it for me too, that guy is an animal, no respect for his fellow competitors at all. WIll not watch BTCC until he is gone from it.
Which global sport has any integrity nowadays? We're in the decadence of capitalism and sport means big business above all else; there's just too much money at stake. I don't get why people are shocked about this verdict, we've seen it all so many times before.

Cricket. I'm not a fan of the game tbh, but they banned a guy a week or 2 ago for pretending to catch a ball he'd dropped, if only other sports would follow suit. It's a nice statement, but I doubt anyone believes a single word in it
