It doesn't say that at all!! It says we don't want to use him in p/e for any player as it then inflates the market value of the player we want to buy. It says if Brum want him for the right price then we are prepared to listen.
We haven't missed out on anybody yet, we've just bid on a couple of players to test the water. Austin will come if we really want him. I understand your fears, in the past we've passed up some of the hottest prospects in the league (Austin, Le Fondre, Sharp), all who have gone on to be proven goalscorers and would now cost an arm and a leg (ok, maybe not Sharp) when we could've got them for peanuts. I don't think £4.5m is an unfair price for a player in the last year of his contract, who wants to leave and improve their career prospects. Especially a player who has never played at the top level before. Sometimes you want the owners to come out and say "ok, we've been stung before, let's pay their asking price and get our man", but then you end up paying over inflated prices and it gets us in trouble. Our budget has to last us the year, so we have to get the deals that are right for us. If we stay up, we can spend a little bit more. But remember, it's still June. The transfer window opens on the 1st of July, most players and staff are just coming off their holidays and only the bigger clubs are getting business done now; it's still very slow. Look at the business our rivals in the table are doing. Cardiff, Palace, Norwich (aside from Van Wolfswinkel, which was agreed at Easter), Fulham, Southampton, WBA and Sunderland are all just flexing their muscles in the transfer market. We aren't going to get left behind, don't worry pal!
The headline does and yet the last bit contradicts itself. I dont see us allowing Hobbs to leave at all. Like Turner i am expecting Hobbs to prove his worth and earn a new contract during the season. We now have many great options for the PL. Blood and Guts defenders for the likes of Stoke City and West Ham and silky movers for the big guns. We need options and especially when the transfer windows are closed. Remember no loans from 1st sept. It would be madness to let any of them go.
I think it would be a mistake to lett Hobbs go, even if SB doesn't fancy him in the starting XI he's still a good option to have in the squad. Although I didn't realise he was entering his final year and with contract offers to other players it seems ominous that there's been no mention of an extended deal for Hobbsy.

I dont mind Hutch tigers rumours, or others that post them. and it passes the time away, Some i take with a pinch of salt others i feel have some credence do it. And it dont do no harm does it! I heard from a really good "sauce" that we was in for Tunnicliffe on loan. and thought i should add it here as i never get any tit bits. So if this turns out to be bollocks what harm have i done! only to make my self look a twat.
Just found some info posted on one of the Preston forums and it seems this rumour was from a fake account set up in the name of Brian Swanson of Sky Sports. The tweets said he's handed in a transfer request and was set to sign for Palarce for 6.5m but the twitter account has now been removed.
That could well change IF he proves himself. Rosie was cool with his deal about to end so i dont see an issue in that one. Also, I dont expect Steve Bruce to star any of his main eleven in any of the cup games either. The cups can be to keep the squad players on there toes. PL survival must be Rule No.1 If we land the players we want then our shadow eleven is not at all shabby either especially to start cup games.
I like Hutch's posts. I feel he posts in good faith the information that he has. It's either right or wrong, and as with any other poster on this site, we can either choose to take heed or dismiss.
I generally think Hutch's stuff is mostly accurate at the time he tells us. People who knock the info he gave us re Fraizer Campbell are being harsh, the information was probably right but either fell though or FC turned us down. The deal was probably true as was the figure and Sunderland excepting it. Things change all the time in football just look at deadline day. Anyway you've got to love rumours
