What made me chuckle here is that they say Shearer has a season ticket... then say he has a box (he does and it's a lifetime box apparently and free to him)..

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ing-job-Alan-Shearer-suffers-fresh-shock.html

Alan Shearer has been stunned by the timing of Mike Ashley’s decision to rebrand the bar named in his honour at St James’ Park, where Joe Kinnear is nicknamed 'Domestos'.
Director of football Kinnear’s clean-up operation is continuing after he refused to sanction a move for the former FC Twente defender Douglas on a free transfer.
And just hours after Shearer claimed his hometown team had become ‘a joke’, Newcastle’s owner Ashley removed the ‘Shearer’s’ sign above the bar and revealed that the venue will be called Nine next season.

Shearer, Newcastle’s record goalscorer, was already aware of the plans to change the name of the bar beneath the Gallowgate End, but the timing surprised him.
He said last night: ‘There was no consultation, I was simply informed by email of their decision to change the name. It was not a question of me agreeing or disagreeing.
‘It’s their ground and it’s up to the owners what they do with it. It won’t stop me buying my season tickets and supporting the team.’
The former forward has been told the Alan Shearer Foundation, a charity with specific aims in the north east, will benefit at a special launch party for the new bar.
Shearer still has an executive box at St James’ Park, but his relationship with Ashley has deteriorated over the years.

The Newcastle great is still idolised on Tyneside after his decade at the club as a player, but Ashley’s popularity in the area is at the other end of the scale.
On Thursday it emerged that the staff at Newcastle are all bound by confidentiality agreements as the splits at St James’ Park continue to surface.
Director of football Kinnear is now routinely referred to among staff as ‘Domestos’ because Ashley has asked him to clean up the club and resolve the internal disputes.
It is a title Ashley previously used for former executive director Dennis Wise when he left Leeds United to take up a new role at St James’ Park in 2008.

Chief scout Graham Carr’s relationship with Ashley remains water-tight, but even he was unaware of the plans to bring in Kinnear last weekend.
Carr has been told he has options at other clubs in the Barclays Premier League, but on Thursday he was telling friends he had decided to stick it out at the club.
Manager Alan Pardew is under pressure to make a solid start to the season when they kick off at Manchester City on August 17.
The club’s chaotic regime came under further scrutiny when former chairman Sir John Hall urged Ashley to resolve the internal conflict at the club.

He said: ‘I’m shocked at the news that Kinnear has been appointed and Derek Llambias is going. It makes you wonder what’s going on behind the scenes at the club.
‘There’s a man in charge there who knows what’s going on but many of the fans will be feeling anger and shock.
'I think everyone just hopes that it will be resolved quickly because the start of the season is upon us. Unless you know what’s going on behind the scenes, it’s difficult to know exactly what has happened.’

Hey you're no fun. That story doesn't have enough drama surrounding it, they make it sound run of the mill talks breaking down stuff. It is much more fun to have Carr hating Pards, leaving and Joe vetoing the Douglas transfer.
