I think a lot of our players will at last step up a bit .. If Tosspot Harold gets a team built with these players and does his bloody job then lads we are on.

I still believe in this squad and if they click they should rip the division up IMO

I do think you have some real quality players, just need t get rid of some of the stupid signings (including ones that Redknapp made) and you should, on paper anyway, walk this league.

Do you guys think that Redknapp's style will suit this league though?

Whilst from a financial point of view would make sense to get rid, if he does stay I think he'll be good in the Championship.

Well, we should because it will probably be the most expensive Championship team ever assembled!

If 'Arry signs Crouchie, paired up with SWP he could have his one big/one small strike team?

I keep seeing statements like we are going rip up the Championship or walk the league because of the quality of our squad; and I keep thinking WHAT are you on??

It's time for a reality check lads we are not going to rip anything up this year apart from a few expensive contracts because we simply have not got what it takes at the moment and if you think HR will build one overnight, I can't see it and for a few reasons: -

    1) There are plenty of teams with established Championship squads
    2) There are NO pushovers in this league and No easy 3 points
    3) We must be an oppositions managers dream as not a lot of motivation needed, weather we hold onto players or not i.e. Teamtalk will go "This lot are earning 10 times what you do lets see what their made of etc..etc..
    4) We need another new team and that takes time
    5) Most of the pundits are tipping us for promotion, kiss of death

I would really like to see us return to the Prem straight away however unless HR really does a real miracle I honestly believe we are looking at a 3-7 year wait.

Couldn't agree more. I'm an optimistic person but consolidating this season and shipping a few more out this time next year would be a success in the situation we're in.

Allardyce managed it with west ham! Not forgetting Newcastle. Southampton and Norwich managed it with league 1 squads. So I don't agree with anything in your post. The" reality check" is that no one knows who's going up til the end of the season. It would be quicker to name the teams that haven't got a chance of promotion than the ones that have in the championship! We are certainly more than capable of winning the league, along with 12 others! Add to that the fact that every team in the division could make the play offs, and you realise just how difficult it is to predict. Leave people to believe what they want and dream all they want, i can't stand it when people use the term "reality check", to basically put their own opinion across and make others think they're wrong!

Not sure I agree with sending Hoillet away. He's young and will come back to form.
SWP? He should give a much a much better return in this league - if he's up for it. But then that's down to Harry and his team to get both situations right.
The only real issue with any of this is their wages - and are we looking to offload and bring in new talent on a more sensible wage structure.

West Ham & Newcastle had far stronger squads Southamton and Norwich had/have a good work ethic combined with a steadily built up squads that had a couple of seasons playing together and by the way the League 1 sqaud players were good enough to play in the Prem.

We don't have a strong squad and we certainly do not have a steadily built up squad, so how on earth do you think we are going to win the league from the position we are at the moment?

Actually I said it was my opinion and you and others are entitled to theirs and I am not trying to make other people think they are wrong I'll leave that game to others on this board?? I just believe that it is unrealistic that we are going to win this League, in fact I will be amazed if we get into the play offs.

If you like I'll bet you 50 quid we don't make automatic promotion?

Watford brought in 11 loan signings and made the play off finals with a squad and manager that knew each other 5 mins. Wolves had a solid squad that had been together ages and they got relegated!! Blackpool had a team of nobodies and got promoted a couple of seasons back. Look at the palace squad, lots of talent? Steadily built squad? No. Cardiff? Changed half their team this year(mainly with qpr rejects) and manager, guess what? They won the league! Who in a million years would have said hull would get automatic promotion this year? I could go on and on with many other examples, but I think this should be enough to prove my point..... And telling others they need a reality check is not the same as offering a different perspective!!
