That was well annoying. Had some wedge on over 10.5 goals - how Spain didn`t do it I ****ing don`t know. And the ref blew early - ****.
Do they get smashed ten-nil every game, daft ****? Let me break it down for you - world football is split into regions (Europe, Asia, Africa, North and Central America, South America and Oceania). Each of these has its own tournament, much as 'we' have the European Championship. Tahiti won the Oceania equivalent. The Confederations Cup is, in essence, a 'Super Cup' for the winners of each of these, plus a few other sides such as the hosts of the next World Cup and the winners of the previous one. They fully deserved their place and have been a credit to their nation - one with a population slightly less than Peterborough.
Dopey ****, so because they win a competition from a pool of equally talentless teams, that makes it right? Don't be a ****ing ******.
**** it, let's just stop having international football, no one is going to beat Spain. Would that make you happy glennon?
Where have I said stop international football? Please find a quote from me asking to stop international football? I do not see the purpose or point in having small teams who consistently get thumped. I see the pundits shared my opinion after the game. I watched Italy v Japan last night, it was one of the best international matches I have seen, breathtaking. Was that Spain v Tahiti game entertaining? No, international tournaments should be based on a ranking system, if you're ranked high enough in the tables you get to compete, if you're not you don't. It's my opinion, I don't expect people to agree with it, but then again I don't expect to be called a 'Twat' or a '****' because people don't agree with it. Now that would be childish wouldn't it?
**** it then Glennon, every team in England apart from Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea should just disband now. As compared to them the others are 'talentless'.
I thought the Spain v Tahiti game was quite entertaining. And Japan were ****ing useless years go, if they hadn't been allowed into international competitions, they'd still be ****ing useless(I'm not suggesting that Tahiti will ever catch them). Tahiti at least went for it in this competitin, more than San Marino or the Faroe Islands ever managed.
Is this your opinion? It's not mine. Relegation dictates whether or not you are good enough to stay in the league. The incentive is to stay out of the relegation zone. My issue isn't with teams that don't win anything, most teams don't, but at least they are competitive. There are loads of teams that play international football that simply aren't competitive, which is pointless.
Amen, as I posted in the "Spain vs Tahiti predictions..." Thread, you got to hand it to Tahiti for actually going out there, enjoying themselves and attempting to score goals. If it's a Country, it definitely deserves the right to play. Why should they be treated any differently? Just because they lose by substantial amounts every game doesn't mean that they shouldn't be allowed to play at all. If I lived in Tahiti/Faroe Islands/San Marino, and my Country wasn't allowed to at least attempt to compete, I'd be pretty pissed off. It's very rare they qualify for the Tournaments anyway and in rare circumstances such as Tahiti qualifying for the Confederations Cup, as long as they try their best and not just play for damage limitation, fair play to them. San Marino/Faroe Islands only ever appear in friendlies or competition qualifiers anyway. What's the problem?
Anyway, there is still another game on tonight which might be competitive enough for Glennon. Uruguay vs. Nigeria. Uruguay need to win, and I would expect them to. Hopefully they give them a game like Japan gave Italy yesterday.
You can't blame the likes of Tahiti for being part of this competition. If you have a problem with where they are in world football terms and want to argue that they shouldn't be involved, then that is an issue for the competition organizers to address.
Totally agree. I know it's a different sport but look how the 6 nations has benefitted Italian Rugby development. They used to get **** on every game but are pretty strong now as a result.
But that's the thing; why shouldn't they be involved? Just because they don't have the football quality that other teams do? It's unfair to stop a Country from competing for being "too bad", how unfair would that be? (I'm not directing this at you by the way tigerrev ) Pointless arguments with people saying, "Tahiti shouldn't be involved, they're boring and it's embarrassing". Their Country probably benefits economically from getting pounded every game, more tourists probably come and visit. It's a domino effect. Not to mention the joys of the actual players who are facing up against some of the best players in the World. Tahiti will be regarded as heroes when they return home, and rightly so.
