Alright lads, i know a few of you lot have been over to our board asking if he's any good : keep you hands off please log in to view this image
Well that proves it.. Doesn't take in to account shots straight at the keeper, one on ones nor penalty's. Just highlights how poor your defence is really
Pepe used to be key to a lot of our counter attacks, which i don't know how good Minolet would be good at , so swings and roundabouts really. also he is comfortable with his feet and bringing ball out which is a style we are starting to play to, again is Minolet any good at that. both have good and bad points, i personally would be happy with either, but i know what to expect from Pepe and i already knew he was ****e at crosses lol.
Given the difference between the two teams (defense starts from the striker and all that) and the overall quality if both teams, it's hard to judge them simply by stats. The only stat there which remotely interests me is the 'crosses failed to claim'. That is alot worse than I expected for Pepe. The rest are either irrelevant or pretty much equal.
Crosses claimed / failed to claim is impressive for Migs but I'd imagine the 'punches' come into this bit too.
Used to be but the likes of Babel, Mascherano and Torres (plus Dossena of course) was key to this. We don't have the right players for it now.
i would say 99% of his punches go in the right place, you find yourself going what are you doing punching that? Oh! ok then!
I wasn't questioning that, I think the punches clear, crosses collect and crosses missed are all one combined stat
The crosses claimed stats are interesting. That will really help us improve at defending set pieces. Those stats do show that Sunderland are generally weaker defensively over all.
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. MIGNOLET, THE BEST KEEPER IN THE LEAGUE, IS GOING TO TRANSFER, AND NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT IT??? No, no, let's all talk about some fluffy Brazillian we've never heard of because there's always the chance he's the next Pele, because he's black and Brazillian and that's how it works... Mignolet is going to BLOODY LIVERPOOL, and nobody bats an eye-lid. Now I know the world is in meltdown! I don't have an axe to grind, even though for a while I assumed you were essentially trying to move our club to Scouse-land one player and brick at a time, and genuinely no offense is intended, but what the hell do you think you're doing taking a player who should be winning trophies in Europe to flipping Anfield?! Selfish arses. That said, you are signing one of my favourite players, regardless of who he's played for, so I wish you well. Twats.
Stop signing good players then you bitch, unless you plan on actually winning something of note some-time soon We sign cack because we're cack, why can't you guys grasp the bloody concept???
"Oh... We're Liverpool and sign one good player every 2 years and surround them with ****e and then wonder why we aren't winning stuff, why we're cult worshipping a soiled rag (ie Lucas) and why things aren't like the 80's" Cut that **** out. Sign all good players or sign nobodies with no future like us
We signed **** last summer and time before that when Kenny and Comolli was here, since then they've gone. Last summer Rodgers was in charge of his own signings and that didn't go to plan, Borini hasn't played great but he has been injured, same goes for Allen. In January we bought Sturridge and Coutinho who both have played very well since joining us, we also have a committee in who seem to be targeting the better players who we so far seem to be happy with. Mignolet is a very good keeper but there that was a bit of a over reaction. If Suarez stays then great but if he leaves then so be it, if you take out the 23 PL goals he scored for us then we would still have finished 7th. Suarez scored goals for us but he didn't win games for us, that's what some people can't seem to understand.
