There were complaints about the music after the Wembley game and also after the promotion games at the KC.

So that's settled then: No music after goals but female streakers are allowed!

Does it matter really when i started going? Will just say i dont want the goal score music and believe the fans should make the atmosphere! Just thought your comment on ripping up your season ticket was a bit childish. But do agree with your other points

I must sit near you. Why shouldn't we try something new.
I personally would like really loud music played all of the time, just to drown out the ****ers who tut every time a pass goes astray. Or better still those who shout "forward"
**** it forget the music just drown the ****s.

I hate them stupid goal celebrations too, swinging a baby or that bloody Bullard sit down thing at Man City or all the team sitting in line rowing a boat that kind of thing.
That's just ******ed do they sit round and discuss what will we do this week if we score a goal?
As long as the players like to run to the corner flag and do the Micheal Jackson moon walk or whatever then goal music is not even as bad as that.
****ing stupid if you ask me, whats wrong with a hand shake and get on with the game? And don't get me starting on kissing the badge that makes me vomit!

You clearly haven't played football then? <laugh>

Celebrations can be sentimental or just pure emotion, and more often that not, it's a sort of trademark. Stuart Elliott's run and flip Celebration will always be iconic and associated with success to me. Alan Shearer's simple run with a hand in the air will forever be held to heart by Newcastle fans. It's kind of a way to give yourself an image. The babyswinging one is often done if that player's just recently become a father or someone in the family, why should they hold back their emotions. Just think, that Celebration might have been saved, and the kid can watch it later on in his/her life and know that the Celebration was about them.

Goal music is a massive no-no. Small parts of American-esque approaches to football are slowly creeping into the English game. We'll soon start calling it "soccer" FFS. Goal music takes away the emotion of scoring a goal. Everyone would miss the explosion of emotion when a vital goal goes in (McShane's against Cardiff for example; euphoria). As a kid, my favourite part of watching a game was Celebrating a goal, and having an excuse to stick two's up at the away fans and "give it large".

Put it this way; teams like Crystal Palace, Barnsley and Leicester have goal music <yikes>

Do you think the "Americanization" of English football started with players names on the back of their shirts? Very American Football I think.

I always thought that was just a marketing ploy by the kit companies in the early 90s than anything else. I wouldn't say it taken from American Rugby at all.

Don't know about that, Zaha's celebration after he scored against us last season was pretty cool.

I am with you on this one, as long as the celebrations are not stupid, then they do bring excitement to the experience. Watching some of the old footage of games, players running back to the centre circle shaking hands, just doesn't seem to have the same effect.
