Do you think that selling clubs are adding on extra money to the price of their players if Arsenal are in for them therefore making Wenger decide to go for cheaper options?
Even then it wouldn't have been more than maybe £30m, some clubs spend more than that on one player. The likes of Chelsea, City definitely have to pay a moneybags tax
It's fair to say that every club knows we now have money to spend but in this era of player power it's not in the interests of the club to play hard ball, we've lost Ade, Nasri, RVP, Cesc, Kolo, Song, Hleb to name just a few who have made it clear they want to leave, as a club you have a choice, take the money and re-build or suffer a decent player spitting the dummy at every opportunity. What there definitely is is an English tax, the price of some of the English players is frightening so whilst we'd all like to see half a dozen or more local lads in the team unless you bring them through your academy there's much better value from foreigners...
Sorry for raising this from the depths of the forgotten threads but I wondered if this was relevant. If arsenal hadn't made comments re having £70m to spend this summer back in april/may would it have been easier to sign players like Higuian (excuse spelling) and particularly Suarez? Are liverpool holding out for more cos of the claims of having £70m to spend?
you can be sure that spurs will get held to ransom when they try and buy somebody with the cash from the sale of monkey boy
