    get them both, why not.

shame we probably couldn't afford to.

with Chelsea looking at Hulk who is quite similar build to Lukaku, reckon he could move on, but apparently he is supposed to get chances next season, guess we will see, Chelsea just go out and buy players now days, so could be surplus.

Lukaku only plays central, but Hulk often plays wide.

    ---Hazard---------------Hulk---
    ---------------Lukaku------------

We got smashed by Hulk coming in from the left and right in the Europa League.

But I am not sure I can see Chelsea signing Hulk as they have already sign Shurrle, who also tends to play as a wide forward.

I'm interested to see how Mourinho sets up his attack next season.

Who will be the central striker. Well will Oscar, Mata and Hazard all fit in. Other attackers will surely sign to. I can see Torres staying. Shurrle, Moses and Ba are in the squad to. Mourinho has publicly backed De Bruyne and Lekaku as ready for the Chelsea first team.

lukaku is going to be sold... there is no question in my mind. chelsea are wasteful like that.

    anyway....

i can see us with a decent 11 but think our bench will still be weak next year right now, just cos what we displace is moving on as well.

e.g. papadoplous or toby (i aint learning to spell a guys name who is 90% not coming) they just replace skertl.. toure just replaces carra... if shelvey goes then thats alberto i suppose. then if aspas does come he's replacing downing... and if itcu comes that's assiadi....

henry ryan is the only guy who if we get i think is a new acquisition, replaces suarez i guess but with big profit that enables buying minger and a few others.

    reina
    johnson papadopolous agger enrique
    gerrard lucas
    aspas coutinho suarez
    sturridge

our bench right now should be jones (sigh) henderson, allen, toure, kelly, alberto, sterling?

theres a few other options too.... if we get all we are linked too.

the "first team" in my mind only gets 2 new players but both would improve things. If suarez goes then it's 3....

Since when does a full team stop Chelski buying anything that breathes? Have you seen their reserve/youth squad and the number of players out on loan?

Regarding our CBs, alot depends on what happens with Skrtel really. Atm, you're looking at Agger/Skrtel as the starting pair with Toure covering/competing. BR is clearly after at least one top CB to really push Skrtel directly, but imo Agger needs competition too - he had a poor season. Dream scenario would be both Alderweird and Papa coming in, Skrtel leaves and Agger stays. Aldo/Agger fight it out and Toure/Papa the same.

If Papadopolous can get over his knee injury, and Liverpool seem to think it's not a problem hence our interest at that price, then he is by far the better player. A dominating defender and a natural leader. Still 21. He'd be the closest to Hyypia in that respect. Aldo is good, but can't see him slotting in with Agger too well as a partnership. If the 7/8mill reported is accurate though, that's a steal.

hmmmm i'm not sure both are the best idea. both are about 6ft to 6 ft 1 and really i'd want a taller option which is why coates so disappointed me.

I agree agger needs a slap or two. great guy, great footballer, average defender and not good off set pieces in attack either.

Alder at 7mil is cheap as chips and eriksen at 8-12 mil is too. i'd just buy two for the price of hnri ryan myself.

Mkhitaryan is a great player, I'd love to see him in a red shirt. He's basically replacing Carroll - a flexible, goalscoring option rather than a one dimensional target man. Much better for our style.

Eriksen (still don't think we'll get him, too much interest from elsewhere) and Alder for a combined 18mill ish would come from FSG's pockets (they were rumoured to be providing 20mill) but would be great value for money.

Papadopolous coming in (well, semi realistically) for Skrtel plus change from FSG's imput and change from Reina's sale.

    Migs for Pepe.

    Alberto for Shelvey.

Aspas for Downing (will anyone even buy him? Please?)

That still leaves Suarez and potentially 45/50mill, or he might be told to stay.

Getting both isn't too absurd an idea but would seriously boost the first team and squad.

I would have put mkhitaryan as a second line type player? Do you see him leading the line like sturridge?

Eriksen my god would be a huge buy...

Papa still scares me but skertl must go. even if for his own good.

    the rest are swaps really.

I think theres a bit of wage management here. we could afford to buy them if suarez goes but pay all thsoe wages? thats the question.

Alderwerld, eriksen, papadopolous, aspas and mkhitaryan are 5 improvements on what we have got. mignolet is not but may be needed. if all 6 arrived with a ictu and alberto youth punt.... well you have to think rodgers must deliver more than 7th.

the thing is there's not one genuine midfielder in the lot so i'd just wonder on that one.

those 6-8 names total 70-75mil frnakly so we'd need to sell suarez and downing and carroll in my view.... 40 +15.5+10...

Don't forget just now high the wages are/were for Downing, Carroll, Carragher, Reina and even Skrtel. We would probably be around the same ballpark amount, even with the extra player. I don't see Eriksen happening at all though, so wage wise we'd be fine. Better quality and younger for cheaper or equivalent, isn't that what FSG want?

No btw, I don't see Mkhitaryan as a 'leading the line' type player, but rather someone who can play anywhere across the attacking midfield behind Sturridge - LF/RF or the number 10. That said, if we were stuck with injuries, he'd be a far better option than Shelvey playing the false nine role which we actually tried a few times! He's much more flexible in that respect.

  12. Rodgers needs to deliver more than seventh this season regardless.

  13. Straight choice between Henri Ryan and Eriksen, I choose the latter every single time. Eriksen and Aldo for the same price as Henri Ryan? Sorry, but thats not a contest!

Eriksen is basically another version of Coutinho in the same position. Mkhitaryan is more of a running into the box, goalscoring midfielder a la Lampard - but better all round with runs beyond the forward player and creating space. He's a player who would improve us now considerably. Eriksen might develop into a top PL midfielder...or he might not.

so i agree... my fear is WHEN not IF sturridge has more injuries (and he will mark this be out for 3 months this season) we will not have a line leader.

mkhitaryan... see i learn his name now... and eriksen for me would be a straight choice. both would just be making a bench issue.

on wages yeah thats a list of higher earners but would we get that many in on just their wages? i don't know.

i can only put it down to wages he is probably on and also we know he wants out, so the sooner we get him replaced the better.

for too long we have been shafted with players wanting out and we have done feck all about it until too late, looks like times are changing, club getting back control hopefully.

Yup. He batted his eyes elsewhere and it didn't pan out. If it had he'd be skipping to Barca. I'd have said thank you for a great job with us & genuinely wished him well but I'll be damned if we now view him as a "loyal guy". bottom line he wants away.

Get in another Keeper now. If he's better he'll get on the first team ahead of Reina, if Reina's satisfied he'll not mind the competition will he? I mean if he's not happy what's he going to do: threaten to leave?....if he's so superior/good/ in his prime/truly motivated he'll keep his spot easily until Barca come for him next year eh?
