Ha Ha, even he is having a pop http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22982306 Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has been undermined by Joe Kinnear's appointment as director of football, says the club's record scorer Alan Shearer. Pardew now has to report to Kinnear as part of a controversial restructuring. "While other clubs are all plotting and planning for next season, Newcastle have a manager who has been totally undermined," Shearer told the Sun. The Match of the Day pundit added: "People are laughing at the football club I support. And that sickens me." Shearer scored 206 goals in 404 games during a 10-year spell at Newcastle. He was also manager for an eight-game spell in 2009, taking over when previous incumbent Kinnear was recovering from a heart operation, but was unable to save them from relegation to the Championship. Shearer does not expect Pardew to resign but feels he will find it difficult to work under Kinnear. "His silence on the appointment of Kinnear himself over recent days said it all. But what could he say? "He is in such an intolerable position. He can't come out and slaughter his employers but at the same time he can't agree with a situation which no manager would find comfortable. "I ask one question of Joe Kinnear: Would you stand for it, if you were manager? "Someone else coming out in the national media announcing they are the Director of Football before even the club have made it official. "Someone else basically taking control of who comes in and who goes out." Kinnear, 66, was named as Newcastle's interim manager in September 2008 following Kevin Keegan's resignation. He was forced to step down after suffering heart problems in February 2009. He recently revealed his new role during a radio interview, during which he got several players' names wrong, before the club confirmed the announcement. "As for that announcement, what are the players to think when he can't even get their names right," Shearer added. "It's all a PR disaster." Shearer joined Newcastle for a then world record £15m fee from Blackburn in 1996. Shearer also took issue with Kinnear's claim that Newcastle would not have been relegated four years ago if he had remained in charge. He added: "Over the last few days he has banged on about how Newcastle would never have gone down had he not had his health problems and stayed on in the job to the end of the 2008-09 season. "The implication being that it was first (caretaker) Chris Hughton and then my fault for the club being relegated. "I had eight games as manager at the end of the season, won one, drew two and lost the rest. So, yes, I take my share of responsibility. "But Kinnear had 19 league games in charge that season and won just four, taking 20 points. "Chris Hughton could not arrest the slide in his brief role as caretaker, and nor could I. "Given the downtrodden, disjointed group of players I took on, it would have been something special if I had. "So it's about time Kinnear took some responsibility for what happened as well. It was a real eye-opener when I did take charge for those final games. The team wasn't just a mess, the club was a mess.
The Match of the Day pundit added: "People are laughing at the football club I support. And that sickens me." people have been laughing at them for ages, this is just another case of fat mike pissing all over them again. i cant wait to see what fat mike comes up with next to **** them over
Gets better. As we excitedly wait to see who goes in…or out of the revolving transfer door at Newcastle United, off the pitch there could be other big names following Derek Llambias out of the door. Alan Pardew has indicated he is ready to stay and fight, while not so positive rumours surround Chief Scout Graham Carr. However, our understanding is that a name far bigger than any of them is set to be removed from St.James’ Park. Shearer’s bar at the stadium is currently having a ‘refurbishment’ and the club website report that it will be closed until July. However, our information is that Shearer’s name will be removed for good and Shearer’s Bar divided up into smaller units serving mainly corporate fans/guests. The recently opened ‘Terrace Bar’ taking the place of Shearer’s. I suppose it could have been worse, drinking in Kinnear’s wouldn’t have had quite the same ring to it http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/mike-ashley-to-remove-shearers-name-from-st-james-park/
Cant wait for the season to start, and see what happens to our nearest and dearest in the league. {relegation} a possibility,
So what's new? I've been laughing at them ever since the play off semi final pitch invasion. Through the season they threw a 12 point lead in the prem, to the tactical and team decisions of Gullit. From Sheerer being stretched off in his final ever game, robbed from his lap of honor thanks to Sunderland, to the sports direct Arena. Alan, Your club has always been a laughing stock and always will be in our eyes.
How does Shearer know this? According to the club Pardew was aware of the appointment and therefore has not been undermined - Maybe he should try writing something other than "opinion"... All in all - I'm enjoying the fun we're having on the back of it!!
Over the years they have had a chairman slagging their own fans off for buying replica shrts at inflatedprices, called geordie women dogs, they have had 2 of their own players fighting eachother on the pitch. They're own fans smashing their own city centre up not once not twice but 3 times. Thez have had the farce of various mesiahs coming and going, the list is endless tbh. Yes safc have been an embarrasment on occasion ie the 2 relegations but off the pitch we are a respected football club whereas the mags are litterally a lauging stock. Forgot to mention the carry on with the sports direct.com park lol and embarrassing fans frequently showing themselves up on skysports news lofl...
We could list them all day mate. There's a book in this imo. 101 Ways that Newcastle United have embarrassed themselves. I'd buy it, would be a funny read.
The "love it" keegan interview haha. FFS (shephard) claiming they were one of the biggest clubs in the world and take any manager in the world would love to be in charge there-2 weeks later they gave the job to Souness much to the relief of Blackburn lofl...
Ha ha, thanks mate. I forgot about the fan who got Andy Cole tattooed only for him to be sold the same week. There's defo 101 like. I might write it! Or start it and never finish it because I constantly procrastinate.
