Pressure's on in the second game? If last season is anything to go on we'll be lucky to get 5 points!
Dont be too sure about that. No such thing as A must win game in august. Hull City need to get 42 points - 14 wins during a 38 game season. That will do for me.
Do you mean put our reserves out? We can win any game even if it isn't likely. Playing the same players and/or the same formation and style will help.
The best time to be playing the likes of Chelsea is the opening day surely? Probably Norwich will be more up for it against us than the likes of Man U and so on, I don't see beating them as a must-win at all, it reminds me of when we got smashed by Wigan I seem to remember similar comments about how we should beat teams like them. We still stayed up that season too.
sort your head out . we can do with out people like you supporting the tigers 7 weeks before kick off and you have lost 2 games allready idiot
I think someone has mentioned it already but our home games up until Liverpool at the end of the November are the ones where you would think we have a reasonable chance of getting something. Its these games where we have to get the points on the board, but it won't be a disaster should we enter September with no points. Southampton were poor until Christmas then finished strongly. Maybe a good thing we have 2 of the 3 toughest games of the season within the first 3 games.
As I have posted on other threads about our previous Premier League tenure, the canny mid to lower tables target the weaker sides & go to town on them. They expect to lose against the top sides but make sure at all costs they take points off the bottom-feeders.
But that's a different point to your original post. Yes I agree that anything we get against the top sides will be a bonus, and that we should look to maximise our points against the teams around us. But we won't win them all for varying reasons. To say that our second game is a must win is a nonsense in my opinion
Norwich will probably fancy us whereas the bigger boys might take their eye off the ball, thats what happened first time around with us. Premiership it seems like there are two leagues, the smaller teams (no offence to us and Norwich but thats what we are) and the big nobs who might think an afternoon at the KC is a stroll in the park, up to us to get in amongst them!
Brilliant. Championship teams not so hard Division 1 slightly less hard Division 2 slightly slightly less harderer etc etc
They are all MUST WIN GAMES..... win all our games and we win the league, league cup and FA cup.... Hows that for Optimism
