Reps been around for ages, ideally the green rectangles should tell you at a glance who's respected on here and who's on the wind up. Its never really used on our board, but others make extensive use of it. Unfortunately most mods, and plenty of others, have reached the point where a single rep can give someone a full green bar, or stick them deep in the red, so I try to avoid it now.

I would say that top four is impossible for other than those clubs that I would discount for relegation,The two Manchesters,Liverpools and the top three London clubs. For anyone else to get there about 100/1 against and that would rely on two or three of those seven having a disastrous season.

To take a slightly different angle, everybody was surprised when City finished third and then fourth in consecutive seasons in the early 90s. It isn't always about spending big, it's about assembling a team that plays well, gets results, builds confidence and then follows that through with consistency. I happen to feel that is what CH is aiming for and I think City will move closer to it next year with the new players coming in. West Brom frightened the big boys last season but then faded towards the end. It's not easy, but it can be done.

But ultimately The Baggies ended up just five points above us and Swansea just two.I just think that the days of teams without big resources making the top six are gone.I wish I was wrong, watching Cloughie take a clapped out second string club to a title and then with Forest to win in Europe was quite spectacular

I thought we panicked a lot, but a user on the Hull forums have us down as a must win game already.

To be completely honest, I never knew (until now) what 'it' was or how 'it' worked.

    Or cared.

So let me get this right supers, so the holy grail 7, can change each season? Am i correct in this?

Just so i can my head around this. Team A, spends the 7th biggest amount in transfers that year, so you are saying they will finish 7th? Team B, the following year overtakes them into 7th in spending money so you are saying will finish above them into 7th in the table. Am i correct in this?

If i am, what has happened to the players Team A bought in season 1? are they suddenly no good? do they lose the use of their limbs? This is my point, A team can be the 7th biggest spenders but it means **** if they spend it on crap. Take QPR for example, with your logic they should have never got relegated!

Guru, you must be pretending to be thick! Nobody on this Earth could genuinely not understand what Supers posted! If you want to carry on wumming that's fine, but at least try to not appear to be this stupid!

Having masses of disposable income is one thing - spending it wisely (à la Ferguson) is a different ball game, one which Hughes and Redknapp don't seem to have mastered.

Exactly, this is what i'm saying, Your finishing place isn't decided on the biggest bank balance, it is decided on what you do with the money and utimately what you do on the pitch. so you can't just say, "oh well, we can completely ignore the top 7 places, whoever finishes there because they must have the most money" thats a complete load of self obsessed rubbish.

Some of you think that i think that moneys doesn't matter, of course it does, but it doesn't make a jot of difference if not used wisely by the managers.

Factual point, QPR spent more money than Everton last season, if supers is correct then why did they get relegated? I'm hoping supers has an argument to back his theory up on that one!

I'm dealing with cold hard facts, supers is dealing with unfortunately opinion.

Don't be ridiculous, Zulu. Everton have been getting Premier league money since the inaugural season, 1992/3 having never been relegated. Their spending is comparatively low as they carry forward the nucleus of a good, solid squad from one season to the next.

QPR were promoted along with Norwich two years ago and brought with them a disjointed chmapionship squad. To stand a hope of surviving, they had to buy some better calibre players - as did Norwich and Swansea to an extent. The fact that Lambert and Rodgers made a better fist of strengthening their respective squads is canny management skills, something that cannot be attributed to the train-wreck that is QPR any time recently.

Warnock began the comedy show, Hughes and latterly Redknapp threw more good money after bad .....and the result you'll see for yourselves on 17th August.

A poor example chosen to highlight an argument which even a blind man can see is fatally flawed. Next topic?
