****ing hell MITO. What do you want? It is a great start for us potentially. December is a bit on the tough side, but the run-in is pretty well balanced. All in all, I don't think there's really anything to grumble about there
I don't think so. Therre will be no reason for doing so... but even if we were doing badly most will have learnt the lesson of SAF. Give him time and the rewards will come. United fans are after all not like Chelsea's - plastic and rubbishing their manager at every opportunity...
The start, Christmas period and the run-in are important but you have to play everyone at some stage so we can't have it all our own way (unlike some clubs ). IMO, it is best to avoid the bigger clubs in the Christmas period because they have the bigger squads and are able to deal with the fixture demands at that time. Couldn't really give a flying pig about the rest TBH
I'm not sure about your crowds but wouldn't you say the majority of fans attending would be 18-25 year olds? If so i'm not sure they would have 'learnt their lesson' with what happened with Fergie all those years ago - the modern game is a very fickle one
Our home form have to improve. AUGUST 17 Stoke City (H) 24 Aston Villa (A) 28 Capital One Cup second round 31 Manchester United (H)****Likely on Sky SEPTEMBER 14 Swansea City (A) 21 Southampton (H) 25 Capital One Cup third round 28 Sunderland (A) OCTOBER 5 Crystal Palace (H) 19 Newcastle United (A) 26 West Bromwich Albion (H) NOVEMBER 2 Arsenal (A)****Likely on Sky 9 Fulham (H) 23 Everton (A)****Likely on Sky 30 Hull City (A) Question: Are we playing Manchester United too early in the season?. Though we have home advantage
Best time to play them (for you). There will be a positive vibe about the place and huge pressure on Moyes. Moyes actually has to go to Anfield and play to win, which will be a new concept to him.
We play them a week before you so one of us will get Webb. Much like with us, they'd never have beaten you at home without intervention from the ref, will be interesting to see how they cope 11 v 11.
If he doesn't leave and assuming we get beyond the second round of the League Cup, Suarez will be back in time for our fifth league match versus Sunderland.
I like Stoke at home first game. It's one of those mid table teams, not a top team that could struggle againt, not a promotion team that will be realy up for their first game, so one that can get a good start against. Also, only 1 "top" team in the first couple of months allows us to get some momentum, sort of the opposite start from last year.
Their system of play likely to be different under Mark Hughes....sexy football...attack attack. .and... attack.
