Most over rated manager. Has he got some dirt on these clubs? Must be the only reason he continues to get work.

It really is a joke, what has he done to be so highly rated by so many people?

And I still don't get this bit about "Hoddle will only take the job if his best young players are available for every game." Is it just me that thinks that lacks ambition? If a player is good enough for the first team, why leave them to **** about in the U21s? Surely if the senior manager wants him he gets priority and it's better for the player too. I hope it is Hoddle though.

They'd have been better off keeping Pearce than offering the job to this no mark nugget. A huge step backwards IMHO.

Glenn Hoddle had the job, but got himself fired cos of his claims that disabled people did something bad in a previous life and are being punished for it in this.
It is all well and good holding that personal belief but airing it to journos was just asking for a good arse ****ing by the FA.

The whole Eileen Drewery Faith Healing crap was ridiculous too. Could have all worked out so differently if he'd just stuck to football talk.

Would you take on any job knowing your best tools would not be available to you?
As it stands right now, We have no players in the full England squad with any international honours. My opinion is (and please correct me if you don't agree) surely we have more chance of winning a tournament with the U21's than with the current full squad.
Would it not be beneficial to have players fulfilling their time in the U21's, win a few trophies as a team, grow together, and in time, this would give them the experience required to enter World Cup and European tournaments and actually know how to handle the bigger games.

That said, I could be talking out me arse!

Hoddle let himself down with strange comments and behaviour but as a football manager he was pretty impeccable and does things the right way. Wonder if he's a bit out of touch with things these days though.

    I disagree.

In answer to your first line, no I wouldn't if it was a club or senior national team job but surely for the U21s that should be part of the job? You're always going to be using different players and your better ones will be called up to the seniors. In factm that should be the aim, to get as many players into the seniors as possible? The seniors have to be the priority. If a player is good enough for the seniors they play for them.

What the priority of the U21 team? Winning what is effectively a youth team trophy or developing good players for the natonal team?
