Make them pay us £10m, donate some money to charity or do absolutely nothing, if past tapping up is anything to go by.
I only ask because the FA have as much backbone as a Frog. The tapping up of Fabregas by Barca was even worse yet UEFA turned a blind eye as it was one of their boys.
Hemight not but he was a good striker for Sutton, except one on one with the keeper, never beat the keeper!.His brother Nko, also played for Sutton.
I had some sympathy for Barca, as Arsenal were rather underhand in the way that they signed him in the first place, but the whole thing was utterly blatant and completely disrespectful. I assume that they don't have tapping up rules in Spain, as they're certainly never utilised if they exist.
In an interview with Marca, AVB has reiterated that he has the promise of the chairman that Bale will not be sold..although the Spanish see this as a ploy to push up the price!.. http://www.marca.com/2013/06/20/en/football/international_football/1371716814.html
Also from Marca http://www.marca.com/2013/06/19/en/football/real_madrid/1371672770.html Madrid interested in Paulinho
Fair enough, it's not a great one, and in Gylfi's case, it's skewed by his playing more than most in the cup matches. But while it's not a great stat, it does highlight something important: which players produce goals. The important point is that Gylfi and Dempsey scored 19 goals in all competitions last year, and Gylfi had a bunch of assists. If we dump them, we've got to find other players who are good at getting the ball into the net, because many of our players (Dembele comes to mind) are not.
As has been said, Marca is the mouthpiece of Real Madrid. As such, they are used to Real getting what they want - hence their attitude. They don't want to hear that Bale is not for sale. Real wants him...OF COURSE he's for sale!..
Could we sign Tevez? I'd normally say no way but both player and club seem keen to part ways and all the moneybags clubs are chasing bigger targets. I'd absolutely love to have him, though I bet his wages are astronomical.
He may be a squad player for City but that's a club in the CL and, as you say, is on huge wages. It's logical to assume he'd have no interest, at his age, of dropping down to the EL (unfortunate as he is a good player) -------------------- Apparently Paulinho has a £17m release clause but we're only prepared to pay £15m. Real are also sniffing around - I don't think they actually want him. I seriously think they will buy him as a result of us not bending over for them re. Bale. Speaking of Real - exactly what was the point of us signing into a partnership with them when we sold them Modric? Isn't a partnership supposed to be a 2-way street i.e. we get something out of it as well?
Facepalm. If this is true we need a shift in thinking about how much £2m actually is. When we're faced with points drops due to being unready and understaffed or through wasted time chasing these players only to be pipped by the yearly wage of David Bentley. We either really want him, so pay the money, or we don't (so why are we chasing in the first place?)
