    Firstly hello!
I have been an avid watcher of this board since its creation.
Anyway, a quick introduction - I am a 40 year old Geordie who has been away from home too long. Used to go to the matches, as a wee lad, when McKeag was the chairman. Then, education and work resulted in me moving to the sunny Midlands.
The news I can offer, from a very good source, is Pardew has clashed with Carr a number of times although the relationship has not irretrievably broken down. I suppose Anita could be cited as a recent example. Ashley rates Carr highly.
Regarding 'Lambasis', his resignation (which was forced) was linked to defending Pardew; poor publicity regarding Wonga; making mistakes when getting new 'players' over the line; lack of football knowledge (which, incidental was a comment (allegedly) thrown in Ashleys face during the yearly review); and the lack of increased revenue streams.
The combination of these factors have resulted in the current mess.
Anyway, forgive me if I have only detailed something that is common knowledge,
    Best wishes,
    Richard.

Greetings! Enjoy the board - it's a fine one.

What you say sounds plausible and I'd certainly prefer MA to lean towards Carr rather than Pardew with regard to player transfers. Again with the suggested reasons for Llambias departure.

Still nothing can answer the question - why Kinnear?!!!

    Hi Hillier
Welcome to posting on this board. Hope you will post again, rather just being a watcher ...

From your 'good source', can you tell us which complete tool is coming in to replace our departed MD. Dennis Wise, John Fashanue, or someone else who knows nothing about Newcastle except he's more intelligent than the fans?

I was thinking earlier; what if Anita got sold because he didn't impress that fat little bastard Kinnear? Christ that would be horrible. The lad obvious has an abundance of talent and has been left rotting on the bench. For what reason? **** knows. It must sicken him with certain abominations get a start ahead of him

Well it is interesting Caulkin from the Times, has tweeted (since my post) that it was a result of 'strained relationships'.
All of this should come into the public arena unless, of course, the media are warned not publish or the NUFC media machine tries to put another spin on it.
What I have posted, however, is on the money.
To answer your question... who knows? Joe clearly has the ear of Ashley from his first time at the club. He fits the criteria of being a 'football guy'; he already has a relationship with Carr; and maybe (and this is pure speculation) he could be DoF for someone like Poyet.
Speculating, I would be amazed if Pardew is around for much longer. Forget all this rubbish about 'staying ... to fight back up the table': He is waiting for a pay off either from his sacking or a tribunal. He has been undermined and his relationship with Ashley is non-existent (him citing failure of the owner (which was a barbed comment regarding Llambias) finished that off; unrest among the playing staff; and less than positive reviews from Carr have all contributed to where we are now).
Anyway, thanks for the welcome and I will try to be as active as time permits.

Welcome aboard hillier73, you've probably got a fair bit of rep already but it wont show untill you've made 50 posts.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the forum, it's not usually as quiet as this and will get much better when the new season starts.

    No idea mate.
I can say with absolute confidence there is no such thing as ITK regarding Newcastle!
My father (LV (Roy) Hillier) managed Carver at North Shields (to recover from an injury sustained at Newcastle) and I play golf with 3 pros on a weekly basis yet I never find anything out before it hits the public domain.

Guessing (and that is all it is) my money would be a non-football person who can focus on the business side.

100%... but it makes you wonder is Pards judgement is the biggest problem regarding Anita. He has pedigree, obvious talent, and was highly recommended by Carr.
Hopefully Joe makes a good decision (for once)....

Hi Richard... Welcome to the support group for Newcastle-o-holics. I've been trying to go straight for a 23 years, but I keep relapsing whenever I see the mighty 23 held aloft as the clock strikes 60 minutes <whistle>

I am always slightly worried a long time reader may have some pre-conceived notions about one or too of our more eccentric members (probably a shorter list to mention the normal ones... that would be 2SilverSeaHorses and me <ok>), but you couldn't wish to interact with a a nicer group of people (especially online). Truly the pleasure of my life.

    p.s
I have given you rep. Go to control panel (top right), then scroll down to see my comment. Prepare for homo-eroticism my friend.

Welcome Hillier! Makes a lot of sense all that. I would love to be a fly on the wall in Mikes office to find out just how he does go about writing this soap opera.
