Our transfer budget isn't capped at £15m, we'll be spending way more than that this season. I expect January will bring more money spent with it, plus potential departures to balance the books out. People need to think more long term. I think you'll see us spend between £18-20m this Summer at least, including fees for loan players. E.g. McGregor - £1.8m Elmo -£2m Davies - £3.5-4m Austin - £4.5-5m Hooper - £5.5-6m Torres - £1.8m Bridcutt - £4m (or an equivalent midfielder) That's seven new faces, most who are are linked and are feasible targets, which roughly come in at a cool £23.1m, give or take a couple of hundred thousand. Even with variables, it's going to be in excess of £20m, assuming of course that's all the players SB wants and that's also excluding fees for loans which will inevitably come at some point this summer as well as a back up goalkeeper who, if he doesn't come on a free will be fetching a fee too.
Davies will cost more than £2m, Birmingham will hold out for at least £3m I imagine, he's one of their best players.
