I hope he does well, not his fault on the price tag and all that but seriously glad to see the back of him as for me that is one of the most ludicrous, atrocious, etc deals ever done and we were the ones doing it. I still think he is pony though and won't cut it at the standard that we thought he would achieve.
The white elephant is no longer in the room. At least he can now go and progress his career with a club that suits him. £17.5m (incl add ons), plus the loan fee and wages saved from last season as well - we did pretty well out of it (there was always going to be a hit on £35m but I think we got the maximum amount possible). The important thing now is that we can invest this money and tie up some deals - Alberto, Mkhi, Ilori and Papa
Where did I say that? You're assuming I think he wants to go! I don't. I was just asking how you know he doesn't want to leave. Given the way BR almost touted him in his first interview, if I was Carroll I would be glad to leave.!
this totally agree. I think if we got add ons into the contract that's great. I think Gold and sullivan really only have eyes on selling up as soon as the olympic stadium is done and dusted and they move in. a london club with a ll the set up to them = a huge sale to arabs. they will give allardyce anything he wants no matter how useless to achieve prem status in 2016. 2mil + 15.5mil plus another 2 mil add ons is not too bad cos frankly comolli aid we over paid. We panicked on a dead line day. we should have loaned someone or even spent 10 mil or a player than waste the one golden egg we got. ah well..... good riddance.
Fair enough. Obviously I don't know for sure, I'm just looking at what has happened since BR arrived. Apologies for my response, I could of worded it better
No apology necessary. You could be onto something though - with not much action on the boards atm, maybe a few 'staged arguments' could be worth considering .........
