Same is not striclty true of red wine. Most expensive bottle av drank cost £120 (oot a shop, not inflated restaurant price). It was alright. No better than summat around the tenner mark.
I find marlboro estate sauvignon blanc's to be exceedingly good. Tesco have a rather nice bordeaux red on offer at the moment reduced from £12 to £6 bloody lovely it is. I was in pizza express for lunch the other day and drank a bottle of syrah shiraz which was rather good too. On ales, I do like Oxford Gold which is in my local but the best ones are for anyone in the west midlands is Bathams bitter, also Butty Bach is bloody lovely.
That Bordeaux stuff. have got to pop to tesco in a bit will have a look see and take a photo of said vino and re post it for you.
Syrah Shiraz? They're the same grape. The French call it Syrah, every **** else calls it Shiraz (or mibby other way round). It's a bit like saying ah'll have a bottle Merlot Merlot.
No keen on Tesco for their wines. Overpriced in my opinion. I go to a local wine shop, or Asda if the local shop isny convenient.
Oh, I see. I thought you meant it said that on the bottle. The judicious use of a slash, as in syrah/shiraz, would have made what you meant clear and avoided this confusion. Don't do it a-****in-gain ya *****/****.
I just look for what is half price and pay around £6 a bottle. sometimes thyre good sometimes not so good. Dont shoot me down for this but Aldi do some nice wine. I really like their Pinot Noir. its £4 a bottle and lovely. They also do a temperanillo called Torro Loco which is lovely if you nail it when you open the bottle. it doesnt last well once opened.
I agree. Those are nice wines from Aldi. Somebody told me to always try supermarkets own branded bottles because there may be something pretty good in there. Summat to do with deals they make with vineyards to takew the last of their "crop" off them. Sometimes good stuff, sometimes not so good. I've never really done it so dunno if it's true or not.

I was told by someone who sources wines for events etc that you should always look for over 12.5% alcohol and deep dimple/cavity at the base of the bottle when buying mid-range priced wines .... it almost always indicates a good quality wine - this advice has served me well and I share it with you all now out of the generosity of my heart.
