@MsiDouglas: A juicy #safc transfer exclusive for Black Cats to get their teeth into in tomorrow's Journal... Sounds exciting. Mind, last time I got excited about a transfer on twitter turns out it was one ****ing direction
aye, they get their stories off these boards but mainly twitter then claim they broke the story, ssn are the prime example for doing this, ****s
The last time we saw something like this it was one ****ing direction as th4e OP says!!! Not getting my hopes up Probably Girls Aloud!
£6-7m mate, get it right JI DONG-WON does not want to come back to Sunderland and is on the verge of a big-money move to the Bundesliga. The South Korean international spent the second half of last season on loan to German side Augsburg after failing to make a single first team appearance for Sunderland in the opening half of the 2012-13 campaign. And the 22-year-old striker now wants to make the switch to the continent permanent, with Sunderland set to grant him his wish and get an unexpected windfall in the process. The Black Cats signed Ji from Chunnam Dragons in June, 2011, for £2m, but despite his failure to flourish in the Premier League, Sunderland look ready to make at least DOUBLE that fee and possibly more when he leaves. The Sunderland misfit has established a good reputation in Germany on the back of helping Augsburg engineer an escape from relegation which looked unlikely when he arrived in January with the club propping up the league. Augsburg won seven and drew three of the 17 games he played in and that was enough to lift them out of the drop zone. He scored five goals during that spell with his side winning every game in which he found the back of the net. That has led Augsburg to look into the prospect of signing the Asian forward permanently. But they have already admitted that his market value has risen and they are unlikely to be able to afford him. A host of German clubs have now expressed an interest in a forward who made only two Premier League starts for Sunderland (17 substitute appearances) since moving to Wearside two years ago. And involved in the chase, in what will be a surprise to many Sunderland fans, are leading German side Borussia Dortmund – runners-up in the Bundesliga and Champions League! Ji believes his career derailed at Sunderland and is now getting back on track. But rather than looking at giving the South Korean another chance next season, the Black Cats will be happy to cash in on a player who scored a memorable late goal for Sunderland to beat Manchester City 1-0 on New Year’s Day last year, but achieved precious little else. Ji signed a three-year deal with Sunderland on the back of notching six goals in 11 international appearances, including four at the 2011 Asian Cup. But now that he is coming to the final year of his contract – like Sunderland team-mate David Vaughan – Sunderland have to make a decision on whether to offer him a new contract or risk losing him for nothing (other than compensation) when his contract expires next season. A new contract for such a marginal player at Sunderland is a non-starter. And with the prospect of Ji moving on for £4m-plus – and there has been speculation of £6m-£7m if a bidding war develops – Sunderland will cash in.
But how much have you seen of Ji last year to know that. I've seen nothing but heard great things. If he want's to leave let him go but I'd like PDC to have a look at him preseason if possible. If Mig can develop that much then so can Ji, I'm very intrigued and open minded about the lad.
I seen him once while playing in Germany and obviously the matches he has played for Sunderland. I have seen absolutely nothing to suggest he could ever be of the standard required to play for Dortmund. The players they have are far better quality than Ji. Everytime one of our ****e players go on loan we always get this crap. It even happened with Elmo, ffs.
One game in Germany and what you've seen at sunderland isn't much. One game more than I've seen of him. I can't say that two start's for Sunderland represents a fair crack of the whip with which to judge a player. For example none of us knew he can play inside forward and attacking midfield. This lad has been very surprising since he left, It would be bad from the club if he's not assessed before being allowed to leave. Champions League teams have been linked with Elmo?
Nope, but quite a few posters on here were clammering for him back because he was being praised at Hull.
Ah yes, I see what you mean, sorry. Don't think that's quite right mate. I think the general consensus has been from a lot of folk including myself is that every player should be assessed by the coaching staff before being allowed to leave. A lot of good posters on here can see things objectively and can weigh up strengths and weakness of a player without committing a final Judgement on them. I can't recall anybody wanting him back. Read lots of, if Paolo likes what he see's he could provide some depth but nobody out right saying keep him. I could be wrong and would be happy to be proved wrong just so I can think to myself. Ha ha!
Can't be on the clubs side of things, can only be his agent otherwise we'd be doing a lot better job of driving Mig's price up.
That was the one Graeme Anderson from Sunderland Echo says we'll sign a striker today. Could be Vydra or the young Sweedish striker
