Midfield...not where I'd have started, and not sure what this means for the likes of Holtby, Sig, etc.
Better for Sig to move on if we want a top 4 finish. Midfield is weak compared to the quality in the teams above us. Sig would be lucky to be a bench warmer in any of those teams. The Brazilians would provide finesse in a huff and puff midfield. We can all dream.
Apparently Baldini won't be officially announced until early July, and nor will any transfers for that matter. I don't know why, it's just what I've read. It's very difficult to say who'll keep. Sorry to sound negative, but based on our recent record of pathetic transfer activity, it's hardly worth discussing!
I wouldn't be averse to signing an up-and-coming on loan but it would have to be with a concrete deal to make permanent should we wish to, without any silly "add-ons" involving Bale.
http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/News/franco-baldini-appointed-19062013.page? Franco finally announced.
It's not Holtby and Sig that have to worry. For them, it means competition for places. Depth. A good thing. We can still win when 1st 11 are injured or when we have tightly scheduled fixtures. Huddlestone, Parker and Livermore, on the other hand, may well find themselves looking at the door.
Our midfield only really looked decent when we had both Sandro and Dembele together. Other times it "made do" and other times it got outclassed (Chelsea). So i'm not against picking up some more competition there and shipping out, in particular, Parker and Livermore. I don't know these players we are going for but we need to be looking at a terrier like Sandro and someone with some guile like VdV. And we NEED new striker regardless.
I think they do, these players need games to bring them on, not a bench, they're not the finished article for impact subs, though Sig did do well toward the end of the season. Unless the Brazilians are being brought for the bench, now theres a controversial thought! Oh, and of course I'm up for competition for places, squad depth (it wasn't what I meant, more the individuals progression)...thats whats shafted us every year so far! Its hard to be disappointed with Sig and Holtby looking at the way they were used, thats more the debate I was getting at, and others have expanded that they wouldn't miss Sig.
Be honest, when Ciro Immobile scored for Italy U21s last night, who else instantly thought he'd be a direct replacement for Huddlestone?

New on the bale front Real have reserved the no 11 shirt for him,and marca have said this is only the beginning of the Bale Saga, and real are prepared to wait till the end of the season.Surely all this is Tapping up,and Spurs should nip it in the bud by complaining to the FA,and now we have Zico, saying Bale should leave,i wish these ex-player's and players from other teams would shut the **** up!!
I rate Gylfi and think he did very well when he was given a chance. Though he had some remarkably bad luck, he was still third on the team in points per minute. I don't rate Dempsey, who was second. They're two of the less popular players on the team. While we may not like their style, we need their goals and assists, unless we have some plan to replace them.
