with the way we have been playing we would be lucky to have 3 points from the first 15 points but if SOD can move on the players and bring in the players he want who knows. The fact is we are in a league lower than last season yet I was more hopefull last season. It shows how difficult this season is going to be and why SOD said that we may not get promoted this season as we are in a building process (and still have no keepers). If we can get to Christmas and be in the top 6 we will be doing well.
If we can get to January 1st and still be nowhere near the bottom 8, I will be content. This is going to be a rebuild season with lots of personnel changes in the squad.
If we have as many changes in the playing roster as I expect I would think the first half of the season could be patchy but as the players gel I would expect the teams performance to improve and for us to have a much better second half of the season so based on what has happened to other clubs who have undergone massive changes in the playing side I would think that midtable at Christmas and a push for the playoffs from Jan onwards would be good.
To be fair I look at these fixtures, and I think right we know what we need to do we need to prepare well and get on with it........ Games will be tough but non really worry me so bring it on......
Disagree it's exactly what we need it will show if any of the players who took us down have the stomach for a fight.
I think we will have a very good idea as to what sort of season we will have after the first 9 league games. A tough few games to start but we need tough games, and in reality all of our games home or away will be a test.
Knowing city they will have a good start in the hard month then get to September and flop No lets not think that way. It will be a good season and we will enjoy it
It's a tough start, but it's what we need to ensure that the team we have is strong enough to cope with League 1. It'll also give us a chance to improve the squad should we suffer at the start.
Well if we do have a good start in August it will bode well for the rest of the season and may win over some od the doubters
This is a a good set of fixtures very kind to us,we need a very strong start to the season, bring it on.
A strong start is crucial for next season, if we struggle early on alot will question sod and his signings
Due to the time difference I'm late to comment, sorry. First and foremost, I'm glad the fixtures are finally out. We have something definitive to talk about, and it firms up (at least for me) the looking forward to the new campaign. Pretty tough first month on paper I think, and it'll be a test of whatever squad we have before the transfer window closes. No one said it'll be easy, and given our abject relegation season and the necessary rebuilding-in-progress, it'll be a true test of SOD's management skills to get the team competitive from the very start. I'm liking Sept-Dec, and those months should be a chance to build up some momentum and string a good run of results. I just hope we don't really struggle in Aug, lose confidence straight away and set the tone for the next few months. I'm a cautious realist, so I know that so much depends on what squad we end up with by 1 Sept. But, looking at the fixture list, ON PAPER I really feel we should be looking at a reasonable campaign. I wish I could say top 2, but I can't. I'll reiterate what I've said before - I'd expect top 10, and a play off place shouldn't be beyond us. Really can't wait for August 3rd!
Bradford H Coventry A Wolves H MK Dons A Gillingham A 8 or 9 points needed here less than 4 and we are in the s
