In his book The Gaffer, Warnock wrote that he was told 33% shareholder and steel billionaire Lakshmi Mittal, the father-in-law of then club vice-chairman Amit Bahtia, would give him the bonus if QPR pulled off a shock win. On 23rd October 2011, Warnock's side defeated their west London rivals 1-0 at Loftus Road. "Not many people thought we could beat them but I did - and that was quite an incentive." he wrote. "Actually there is still one outstanding issue. I'm still waiting for that £1m bonus from Amit's father in law for beating Chelsea. I'm sure it is in the post." Warnock told SportsDirect News: "People say things, don't they? I'm not pursuing it. I just thought it was interesting."
