If we really are in trouble financially we will sell the Good Doctor's granny if we could get a few quid for the old girl. Our advantage with Yan is that it would be hard to persuade any other club that he really is as good as we know him to be. Same reason Solly hasn't already gone. For that reason only I actually think 3 million is a good price and I cannot see anyone paying it, though Jol is very perceptive manager and more likely to do so than most. The other question is whether Yan would be one of the those "faery gold" players who can perform at one particular club but flop elsewhere. In which case we could buy him back for a half million a year later. (No reflection on his sexual orientation intended. I am referring to the folk stories of gold which turns to dry leaves when outside the magic realm or whatever. I will leave IA to fill you in on the details as it seems to go on a lot more in Ireland, especially with their banks).
Doubt it. Jol often looks abroad for players. Also with berbatov, I can't see then going for another target man.
If we can get £3m for Kermit then don't do a Stephens and bite their hand off! As much as I love him £3m would go a long way towards FFP
Oh, I love it on here - having a carp day at work and just burst out laughing, much to the consternation of my colleagues who must think the heat's got to me... Expect this not to be the last tug we get for Yann. I think the volley against Bristol City might have woken a few managers up.
I'm confused (not like that...) There was a picture of him and what I assumed to be his (beautiful!) wife and son on the CAFC Twitter the other day?
Love Yann but would take £3m any day for him. We could easily get 2 good strikers in this league for that. I know Yann is key but £3m is great. Rather keep him and Solly though.
However much we love Yann, he's a 30-year-old striker who scored 12 goals in the Championship last season, which aint gonna persuade Al Fayed to part with 3m. smackers.
