It's actually turning into more of a circus now. He has mispronounced player names...calling Cabaye, Kebab. And he has had a rant at ewcastle fans claiming he is more intelligent than them and speaks to Fergie and Wenger every week.
i can't rememebr if newcastle fans liked kinnear or not. can anyone? that was a long time back though.....
They hated him, primarily because he was ****ing shocking & took them to the bring of relegation, only for the job to be completed by wor Alan.
Joe is a top lad. Pardew isn't happy though, an inside source tells me he has applied for the Real Madrid job
Seems like in his first interview he has absolutely butchered players names, Yohan Kebab, hatem ben Afra, sammy amebe ( he tweeted on that, wasn't happy), lol.
Joe's record speaks for itself - taking a relatively sucessful Wimbledon from midtable mediocrity to strugglers, before resigning in June 1999 to allow Egil Olsen the privilege of taking to the precipice before resigning (May 2000) to allow Terry Burton the job of sailing into the oblivion. He surfaced at Oxford United as Director of Football, but was kept away from the levers of power, so left to join Luton as DoF. Deciding that the manager wasn't good enough to get them that push on for promotion, he demoted the manager, taking the job himself. He led Luton to relegation and got them back up the following season. He failed to generate any progress (they were expected to push for back-to-back promotions) and languished midtable until the club were bought out by a consortium who sacked him immediately. His replacement, Mike Newell, got them promoted at his first attempt... He took over at Forest with them third from bottom, steering them to a safe 14th. The next season was expected to be a push for promotion, but Kinnear led them in the other direction, departing with them in 22nd... (anyone beginning to see a trend???) Joe re-surfaced as a surprise appointment at Newcastle. Lasted 5 months, and alienated several players, selling the long-time No1 Shay Given and winger Charles N'Zogbia (whom Kinnear called Insomnia in a press conference) before leaving (due to health problems) yet another sinking ship he helped hole below the waterline... So Joe's assertion that he never took a club down is not only incorrect in fact, but also in deed, as his fingerprints have been all over several relegations. His record as DoF is dreadful and will almost certainly involve interfering with the manager's decisions (when it didn't at Oxford, he left, whereas at Luton, he took over). Alan Pardue must be checking his contract very carefully to see just what areas aren't specifically mentioned in the Manager's Job Description...
I particularly like Alberts Chip Shop's quote: ”if he does get job I'll get a clown costume and wear it for every home game... and get Ashley on the back too.." Unlucky ACS
