I heard someone say "Southampton? They can go to Hull", at least I think it was what he said, I was in Portchester at the time
Anyone seen that the FL have announced 6 fixtures early, 2 from each division, to celebrate the 125th annuversary. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22894378
I don't want any of the promoted teams or any of the big 4 first game of the season. Someone like Fulham or West Ham at home would be a nice game to get us started.
The supposed opening fixtures where we host Chelsea, as you can see the 6 games already announced (Burnley vs Bolton, Derby vs Blackburn, PNE vs Wolves, Sheffield United vs Notts County, Rochdale vs Hartlepool, Newport vs Accrington) aren't in this little leaflet, proving it to be wrong. We'll just have to wait for another 13 more hours. See you in the morning.
A well followed Arsenal supporters twitter account is claiming we play them on the opening day at The Emirates.
There was one last year who correctly claimed they were at home to Sunderland, they also claimed this source was always right.
I wouldn't feel great about getting slaughtered on the opening day of the season though. Last season I was of the mind that our tough stuff wouldn't matter, but it's hard in hindsight to deny that our morale was tested to the extreme!
Pretty boring if we do play Arsenal, one of the few Premier League teams I really don't give a ****e about.
