Czech striker. Owned by Udinese, on loan to Watford last season. Scored 20 goals. Been linked with us, some German sides and Liverpool, I think.
I wonder if we should be looking to bring back Alan Carr's dad? Joe Kinnear's reappointment with the Geordies seems like it's pushing him down the pecking order, to me. Not a happy house right now!
Plastic Newcastle fans already on Kinnear's back, they should be getting behind their Director of Football. I feel for Joe but hopefully he can show dignity and walk out with his head held high. Every defeat will be down to the poisonous atmosphere at home games of course.
' He's smarter than they are though DL, especially Yohan Kebab and Shola Amamobi. Great way to get the fans on his side, I think.
Just read on Caught offside that Fenerbache are interested in Ade, apparently the article was taken from The Guardian. Anyone seen it?
From what little I've seen and heard Vyrda seems a handy finisher with plenty of pace. I fear that he may be a Czech Defoe ie: good goalscorer at his level but not going to take us up a gear. Certainly not yet anyway. He's caught the attention of many with his excellent Championship form but that's no guarantee that he'll be able to do it in a top league. A risky buy for any top level club to rely on, least of all us where getting in a striker who will be the real deal NOW, not in 2/3 years, is of paramount importance.
Wouldn't want Vydra to be honest. Looks an accomplished finisher but we need a proven scorer in the top divisions. We've taken enough risks over the years with youngsters/ unknowns/ lower division players. Soldado/ Damiao/ Villa/ Bony/ Huntelaar/ Higuain (though seems Arsenal bound) are ones I'd be delighted to have at Spurs.
Agreed SoS. If we were in a position where we needed to sign a young promising striker I'd be pretty happy with Vydra, but thats a luxury we don't have right now. If we could pick him up for a decent price AFTER securing the proven man we need then I'd be for that too, assuming Ade leaves to free up funds and wages. If we had Defoe, NEW STRIKER and Vydra as a strike force I don't think we'd be too bad. Certainly better than last year. I wouldn't want to pay over the odds though, not for a Championship striker, even one who has 20 in 41 or whatever Vydra got last season.
Was listening to Talk5hite today in the car, and (on the Hawksby and Jacobs show) some numpty came on with "big news" about "the Gareth Bale transfer saga." First off, what ****ing transfer saga? There isn't one, you numpty! Secondly, the news... Cesc Fabregas (of Barcelona) reckons that Real would be stupid to pay £85 million for Bale... (sound of wind blowing tumble-weed across a vast desert plain) Yep, that's the big news on the "Gareth Bale transfer saga" according to Talk5hite. I'm not usually an emotional person (as you all know), but I really could not help but shout the word "****" loudly at my radio, for several seconds.
Yeah, I read about that. Ex-Arsenal and current Barca bench warmer doesn't think highly of a Real Madrid move for a Spurs player. What a shock!
How dare he! We'll show him, lets make sure Bale goes there to show how good he is. Nooo wait, it's a trap!!
He3 just finished top scorer of the under 21 Euros. Decent player but I've no idea why we'd want to train up one of Real's trainees with a year long loan.
