Finished that cycle up to Denny at the weekend, it was really tough but worth it. There were a couple of times I didnt think I would make it, each day hit me with different problems.

Thursday: Exhaustion from the steep hills going up to the Lakes.

Friday: After a flying start I got a bad puncture on the seam of the tube, somehow made it to Lanark that night with the help of another cyclist who pretty much saved me. I got a new tube in the morning but I also had to put up with my front wheel rattling about like Muhammad Ali as a nut had fallen off along the route.

Saturday: A strong head wind and long hills up to Whitburn, it was alright from there but I was shattered and my knees were really killing me at this point.

Had a fair few scoops on Sat night and been eating like a pig to replace all the calories I've burnt off. Beat my target by a long way so I'm happy and its been a complete success. Cheers to everyone that donated, I appreciate it.

I took a few quick pictures but I'm not the best photographer!

****ing hell, well done Frank. You're fairly getting through them now.

What ones you got left to do? Were you not doing a canoeing one as well?

Thats me all done, no more to do now. It was a mile swim I did in a freshwater lake called Semerwater up in North Yorkshire, that was back in August.

I'm going to carry on taking part in events but thats me finished with fundraising for a bit, its not fair asking the same people all the time for donations. I'm just going to help other folk raise money for their pages by going along with their missions.

I quite like running so its not much of a challenge for me now to run a half marathon. Maybe I'll do something mental and different next year :D

Am sure that can be forgiven, getting your hole the best explanation for anything IMO.

Fair do's man, loads of respect for taking the time to do something like this <ok>

Not many ****s would go out their way to make an effort for something worthwhile like you've done.

Frank it's a good job I didn't do the cycle or anything else after the WHW. I was in the hopsital Saturday and I have quite a bit more damage to tendons and ligaments that wasn't seen before. Might need another op. If I'd done the cycle I'd be stuck in some rural backwater with a gangrene leg <laugh>

    Cheers Venom <ok>

ML, I did think of your knee on the final day when mine was hurting bad. Cycling puts a lot more pressure on the front of the knees that you'd think so with your injury you would have been in trouble. I slapped a load of tiger balm on it but the past 2 days I've been struggling with stairs!

Plenty rest for me I think <ok>

The longest I had cycled in one go before the weekend was the 16miles in August's Triathlon. Of course you could do it <ok>

Apart from the Abbey Dash 10k next month I'm taking a rest from events, then next year I'll be taking on:

Cycle Leeds to Penrith & back to help someone raise money for Help for Heroes.
Leeds Half Marathon just cos I enjoy it.
Edinburgh Marathon if I'm feeling alright after the Leeds Half as they're only 2 weeks apart.
    London Triathlon.
    Glasgow Half Marathon again.
And at some point during the summer I'll be going back to unfinished business on that West Highland Way. I'll be more equipped this time and planning on running most of it <ok>
