It was never going to be stripes...except in the most subtle form...you know, like you can't see them.
What they'll do is bring back Stripes next season and will lay it on super thick about "heritage" & "tradition" in the sales bullshit.

I reckon that is quite close. Make the stripes, adidas logo and badge gold and you are probably there. Not exciting though.
Its a necessary evil and one that amuses me more than anything. Well, amuses me how people fall for it is probably more accurate. Just predict those who are happy to ditch the stripes will no doubt do a 360 when the club reintroduces them and sing along to the "heritage" song.
Shirt sposor speculation: Could we be sponsored by Wanda, the Chinese firm that are buying our other sponsor Sunseeker. From Wonga to Wanda
It's interesting because I am not sure what you mean by doing a 360. I brought last season's kit and I'll buy this seasons as long as it is not IMO grotesque, whether it is stripes or not. I do that because I like to wear the shirt on match days, also knowing that I am contributing my small part by parting with my cash and I accept that by them changing the kit regularly I will spend more money (as long as I can afford to). That has nothing to do with whether I prefer stripes or not.
Doing a 360 would mean maintaining the same stance and sticking to their original beliefs. The exact opposite of selling out and singing along...
