Thanks, Bergkamp. No - I don't think that had been picked up yet.

It's what was expected from the GP organisers, I think. We just need to wait until Friday to see what the FIA decide.

To be honest I do not think it is really needed or missed.

The reaction of notable team personnel against extending the season into December is more than likely a means to not have to go to Bahrain this year without actually having to say that.

Have the CIA got rid of all the pro-democracy agitators then?

I'd like to see Bahrain return simply because:

    - Both Ferrari drivers do well there
    - Track suits Ferrari over RB

If Alonso or even Hamilton/Button are fighting Vettel for the title, Bahrain is the perfect place to take points from Vettel.

It may be described as boring, but DRS, KERS, Pirelli combo should produce more overtaking.

If somebody gets kidnapped over at Bahrain, I'm going to be pissed because it just shows everything isn't ok.

It'd be unnecessary, and last year, the drivers hated it. Bernie is going to get it in, because he's just money grabbing. There's loads of talk about cancelling India for it. Not fair, Bahrain had it's chance, and decided it'd be better to shoot a load of their population, India hasn't, therefore shouldn't have to get out of the way for it, or be moved into late decemeber. It'd be far better if they just get rid of it, as it'd be far better to have Brazil as the season ender, and Abu Dhabi probably won't be massively pleased with it being so close, it'll detract from their event

I think it should be postponed until next year purely for the security aspect. It's not worth risking the lives of people just to stage a motor race. I know money will probably be a big factor but I hope they will right off the race due to exceptional circumstances.

Its not worth the hassle this year. Let them have it next year if the country truly is sorted, but this year is too soon.

I find it hard to believe that that amount of anger and acrimony has just evaporated in such a short time. I don't want to prejudge, I hope it's true, but it just seems unlikely.

Joe Saward reckons the teams have already decided not to race there and that the FIA's choice of dates for the Indian GP to accommodate Bahrain is "designed to be rejected and that this is the politest possible way of cancelling the race, without getting involved in the politics."

I'm sure they'll weigh everything up and decide, I just hope the suitcase of money that will inevitably come from bahrain isn't heavy enough.

So, is Bahrain on then? The front page of Autospout says, and I quote:

"Vote it in" sounds pretty conclusive but the various media outlets are not exactly frothing with outrage about it. There are just a couple of reports that say Ecclestone denies the decision has anything to do with money: "This has to do with whether people... I don't know, to be honest, with this occasion whether people are concerned with their safety if they go or whether people are concerned with what has happened in the past. What has happened in that whole area, in all those countries, is not good in any way, so we will have to wait and see."

Not really...FIFA still stinks more than F1

They still have to convince the drivers to actually drive.... Another US grand prix 2005?
