Well as Ive said previously, I think this is because other teams want Hobbs and I cant see Lester or Brum wanting Alex. Still, I think even for our number 1 choice player (whoever that may be) I wouldnt trade in Jack. Sometimes you have to look at what you're losing vs the gain and his influence in the dressing room is worth more than the difference between Kasper and McGregor or the benefit of Davies. Brum are skint for God's sake, surely they'd rather have the full cash wedge.

    Precisely (spelling aside).

For those of you who don't know, Rob Tanner is their version of David Burns (Hons).

If we match your asking price, he'll come, there's nothing for him to stay for at Leicester, but it does make me think about what we're going to do with McGregor, as he won't want to be a back up goalkeeper.

If we lose Hobbs I wonder who we have in line to replace him, can't see us paying for Curtis all in cash and I can't really see any other suitable replacements. Maybe Craig Dawson from WBA (loan/permanent)?

If we lose Hobbs we lose our only mobile big ****er. We'd need to replace him with another big ****er to help combat the likes of crouch, Ba, Carroll when we come up against them. That's why I think it's bollocks.

I don't think Bruce wants to loose Bruce, but its our only bargaining chip with Leicester. Bruce clearly wants Schmeichel and rates him highly. Hobbs can be replaced easier then finding a good keeper, as we have proven over the last how many seasons?

I disagree, we have a good keeper lined up at 1.8 mil, we could probably get stockdale for not much more (which is what I reckon will probably end up happening) but how much does a decent centre back cost? Brum want 4 mil for Davies...

No less mobile than Hobbs. Besides Hobbs has 12 months left I think, he may have indicated that he won't extend, and therefore this kind of deal should not be dismissed.

It's a good move, we can probably buy McGregor and Forde for over £1m less than Schmeichel.

I'm glad we haven't wasted money on Schmeichel when we can get others just as good or better for cheaper.

Assem Allam told Burnsy this morning on radio that we were close to signing a goalkeeper and that it was Mcgregor.
    He'll do for me.

We need our money for strikers and another midfielder.

McGregor is more than capable of being our #1, happy to have him on board. Plus he's not the type to jump ship if we were to go down.

If we can pick up a back up goalkeeper for cheap (Moore for his potential), a CB (Davies, Dawson), a LB (a cheap option as cover for Dudgeon/Brady), a DM (Spearing), an AM (Mellis, Bridcutt) and two out and out goalscoring strikers (any of the ones we've been linked with), we should be fine. Then, if others bid for our players we can fill the gaps as we go along.
