    Seems Mensah wants to stay in the prem.

    Question is, will anyone take the chance with his injury record?

    Obviously got talent, but is he worth the gamble for anyone.


    Sunderland defender John Mensah wants to stay in the Premier League having ended his loan spell at the Stadium of Light.

    The Ghanaian's loan deal from Lyon has come to and end and he is not keen on returning to France. The 28-year-old has stated that clubs are already knocking on his door as the transfer season draws closer.

    “I love English football, I love the pace and the atmosphere, so yes … I would love to stay in the Premiership and that is my first choice,” he said, according to KickOffGhana.

    “But there are offers and hopefully I can settle on the best.”

    He'll never be any good anywhere until that back operation is done. I think we should have bitten the bullet, paid the £1m asking price, and given him the necessary year off, with conditions of permanence for so many seasons after the op included. He's a class act when fit. We won't get another like him for £1 million.

    Been said already but I'd bet a months drinking tokens that QPR will head the chase for him. Experienced and a good lad to be fair but not what you can build a decent team around whne he isnt there for 2/3rds of the campaign.

    Theres allot of talk about this £1 million fee, but has it been confirmed by Lyon thats how much they want for him.

    IIRC they paid quite allot of money for him and I would think they would want to recoup as much as possible.

    If it is that low I would take the gamble and have him back.
