There's normally a significant fixture leak around now, especially through Chelsea for some reason, so it might well be. I'll see if I can find out anything. Edit: Later today, apparently. We'll see.
You might be right. Us being away sounds right, but I'm not sure Cardiff are Northern enough. Liverpool and Man Utd away, too? I haven't seen any glaring errors yet, though. All of the teams that need to avoid each other seem to be doing so.
I hope that's not the fixture list, Everton vs Swansea looks about the most interesting tie there and I bet that doesn't even get picked for TV.
Really hope that leak isn't correct, nothing worse than facing a promoted team on their own patch on the first game of the season.
That^ is definitely wrong. The Football League's released some details of key fixtures, as it's the 125th anniversary, and the don't match up. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...le-v-Hartlepool-United.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Championship Burnley v Bolton Wanderers Derby County v Blackburn Rovers League 1 Preston North End v Wolves Sheffield United v Notts County League 2 Newport County v Accrington Stanley Rochdale v Hartlepool United
Norwich v Chelsea, Hull v Liverpool and Arsenal v Southampton doing the rounds according to people on here.
If we are then you are. Arsenal are at home so it's likely you'll be away. I don't understand it either, from 06/07-10/11 we were at home every season, now we've been away for our last 3. I'm sure in the 90s we had Coventry away as our first game in consecutive seasons.
That's because it's a trek for pretty much any side bar Boro or Sunderland/Hull. There's a long standing tradition of making teams play local games on Boxing Day because very few trains run and it's near impossible for fans to get to games. We usually get Fulham over the Christmas Period for this very reason, last season it was QPR.
But what does it matter whether Newcastle fans are making the journey or the other team's fans are visiting SJP?
I think Fulham played them at SJP on Boxing Day a while back and there was uproar. If all London/North West teams play local games it limits the possibilities for anyone else.
