I'm talking of course about the nugget of comedy gold that is Newcastle United Football Club. Joe Kinnear? I think they'd have been better off appointing Roy Kinnear, and he's been dead a good many years. I have a colleague who is a Newcastle fan, and I have spent the day torn between taking the piss and feeling sorry for him. I think he hates me equally for both. I see Pardew is now 6/5 favourite to be the next manager to leave his post - presumably leaving a constructive dismissal claim behind him. Strangely you can still get 14-1 against Newcastle being relegated with Paddy Power - well worth a tenner of anyone's money.
Is it me or does Joe Kinnear look like he belongs in some cop film playing some corrupt alcoholic detective? In fairness it might be what their club needs, sometimes I think having a director football role isn't really a bad thing especially if you have a chief executive who doesn't know what their doing doubling up in the same role, a lot of the time it's better having people in that role who actually know the game.
The next QPR? "Descent into madness" Mark II? I can understand a Director of Football, who has a proven track record, but to employ JK who hasn't managed since he left Newcastle with a poor record, is a crazy decision. Got to feel for Pardew, last season's issues were 80% down to injuries.
