Sky are reporting that Udinese have rejected an £8 million bid from an unnamed premiership team.... Wouldn't surprise me if this was us, think we are on the look out for a striker and he had great season last year in he championship, also in his early twenties and we are looking to reduce our average age! I don't think it would be any of the top 5 or Liverpool and not sure the three promoted teams would spend £8 mill on one player. Personally I would like him at the cottage to replace Petric and/or Hugo
Roscafre I am as desperate as you for us to start bringing more youngsters through but I think the position of striker is a bit of a problem at the moment! We need an out and out striker who can go straight into the team if need be. I know my knowledge of the academy players is not up there with yours but I believe the two closest to having a first team chance are Altman and Tank who are both second Strikers, as in the other thread the kind of striker we need now is more like Dembele or Woodrow who are probably still a year or two away from being ready? Please correct me on this if I'm wrong I have heard yourself and a few others mention we have a few very promising full backs in the academy and with left back being a problem at the moment would love to see a youngster get a good run next season. I also want kaca and Frei to get more games this year, and would also like to at least get a look at Chris David to see if he could save us money on a midfielder When I say Altman and Tank are both in the Berba/Ruiz position I would still like them to get a few games this year cup games and maybe some sub appearences
I'd be surprised if it was us. We probably have players as good as him in our youth setup. Sounds more like a Villa move.
Sounds like a good signing if it is us. £8m isn't cheap, but for a 21 year old with a 20 goal season behind him, it's not unreasonable. I'm less excited about this than I would be if any media outlets (rather than just ourselves) were linking us to him.
