Honestly, I didn't mean to come across arrogant, I don't how to carry quotes from thread to thread. Glad it's sorted. Phew. I see your point mate, training against better strikers would help his development. I feel he should be at a champions league side I think he's more than good enough to play at that level now and If he does leave us I hope he gets it cause he's a true talent and a model professional. If he stays another season we'll be truly blessed. If he move to you I'll wish him the very best and hope that Pepe moves on.
Talking about Champ League side but looking in England what are the otpions? United have De Gea, Chelsea have Cech & Courtious, City have Hart (although he's made a lot of mistakes still dont think anyone would dislodge him). That leaves us, Spurs & Arsenal as main contenders. Spurs have Lloris so wouldn't go there so really it's between us and Arsenal and Arsene seems content with Sczhesny (sp?). Only other option would to then go abroad but if he's settled and likes England his options are limited.
I think Arsenal will pay top money for a keeper this year. But apart from Arsenal i think you're right there. Think the reason he want's to stay in england is because he's still got two years to do on his political science degree. His agent has stated that he's more than happy to honor his contract with us and that's probably why. His agent said last season changed things and he probably won't sign a new contract if it ties him to the club if relegated. A reasonable buy out clause could get him to sign but I'm not holding my breath. But yeah, think england is the only option, for the next two years anyway.
Likewise Liverpool. Do you know, I've always liked you. Never com across you before on here like, or remember it at least haha. Rep.
Fair, he's far superior to De Gea, but De Gea will improve and no way will United write him off. He'd be a great signing for Arsenal, but I doubt that will happen, if he wants a shot at Courtois, who is a better keeper, he must go to a CL club (Courtois will be playing CL of course). He's definitely going, read between the lines of a 'coincidentally' timed article on SAFC.com about our England U19 keeper Jordan Pickford. I know how PR works, and that is a 'look, we have Westwood and this lad coming up' move if ever I've seen one!
I like Mig as a person. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He deserves to play at a higher level than we can offer. Its definately more the case of hoping he gets what he deserves and what will do him justice. Liverpool at this moment at time dont offer that. They are a fantastic club, but slightly behind the level Mig should be at. We are lightyears, realistically. Anyone who says different is on the wind up, or needs their heads examining imo. For instance I wouldn't hesitate at recommending LFC for the likes of Hendo. But not for Mig. Both players I'd rather keep. Arsenal seems like the ideal domestic destination, I dont know enough to comment about the continent.
Yeah, he announced last week that Chelsea had given him the green light for 1 more year. Bit of a dangerous game mind, 3 years at a great club, he could easily end up saying '**** Chelsea, I'll stay here'. Simple facts are that Courtois is a better keeper, not by much, but by a clear enough margin, La Liga keeper of the year means little as there are some average keepers, but he looked immense every time I watched Atletico, and I believe he's the younger of the 2.
Thing is it doesn't matter where or for who he plays really, Courtois will have to **** up massively for Belgium to give Mignolet a chance. Keepers are hardly ever dropped or changed around. Once a manager chooses a keeper he'll very rarely reverse his decision and pick somebody else never mind how well the other one is playing.
Because Sunderland have hired Mussolini, ripping any fun from the club, and Liverpool are a far more attractive outfit to be a part of, also, maybe Mingolet is confident he can dislodge Pepe as #1. Anyway it's a win-win for us, because Pepe will have to improve astronomically to keep his place, if he doesn't, then in steps a class young Mingolet.
I think this is quote possible. If Mignolet is loooking long term, then he certainly could learn from Pepe this season and push on as No1 next season. Why not? I know that reasonably, he'd want the No1 shirt because of his position in the national side, but he's got a long future in the National side, and thye look to have a decade of competition in them...
Man Utd Man City Arsenal Chelsea Tottenham Everton All clubs players would go to now before Liverpool. I think Mig should wait for a bigger club to come in for him, which i'm positive will happen!
