When I can be arsed, I will download and read the current FFP rules, in their entirety. In the meantime, suffice to say that if a Chelsea fan is against them, you just know that they must be good for the rest of us!
Corrected. Do you think Abramovich would have voted in favour of FFP if he didn't think it would benefit us? It benefits us hugely, we can pretty much maintain our position without spending much and will never be under threat from outsiders. We pull in the 2nd largest revenue so can spend the 2nd most. FFP will cause prices to rocket as clubs try and drive their revenue up, I'm speaking as a football fan not as a fan of a club.
Abramovitch is so powerful that he cam manipulate the chavs revenue . At the moment you can destroy anyone except City . Maybe the difference will be less so.
As I have said, I will read these rules from front to back. In the meantime, your club says one thing, your figures however, say something else? http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/latest-news/will-chelsea-pass-the-ffp-test-
Interesting piece in the MOS,saying Tottenham were Abramovich's first choice, and only went to Chelsea because we turned him down!
If he had bought Tottenham instead of Chelsea I would no longer be a Spurs supporter. There are those who would sell their soul for success. Not me, because as far as I'm concerned it would not be the same club if taken over in this manner. Success at any price is just not worth it, and I can hardly be so critical of the get rich quick City and Chelski if I condone it at Spurs could I? So well done to the Board if this really happened.
The board were praying for a gigantic offer but their brinkmanship and greed failed (bit like transfers). The Russian is not silly and moved on. This is what I heard a while back.
Hardly. Actions change opinions and Modric's lack of respect to the fans, the club and his contract for two straight summers evaporated any admiration we'd had for him.
I'll already admit that Suarez is just not a very nice bloke! Don't think he's a racist, but he does cheat, foul and bite (<yike>) his path forward. I won't be calling him a 'rat faced ugly ****er' or whatever when he leaves though. Don't see what it accomplishes. Fact is, Modric (and Suarez) are under no obligation to love the clubs they've been at, or are at. Sure, us fans want them to show the same pride and loyalty we do, but most foreign players will just take the money and leave. And why shouldn't they? Modric, as tough as it is to accept, is now a Madrid player, and is doing as his new employers say. He'll probably do it for his next club. It's true that he should probably respect the club that took a gamble on him and made him a star, but it's no surprise to see him act this way. Unfortunately.
It wasn't the leaving, but the manner of the leaving. Effectively going on strike having signed a contract a couple of years before. Would always applaud ex players when they came back as long as they respected the club. Besides, he's not endearing himself to us by tapping up Bale.
I've called people that i actually know and like a lot worse for less reason so i'm pretty content to insult modric tbh. Like SD says, we have no problems with people leaving. Look at the big long list of players we accept back into the fold (defoe, kaboul, chimbonda, keane, sheringham etc etc etc). But if you act like a twat (berba/modric) then you have to accept that people might call you up on it. Why footballers should be exempt from that i don't know. Hell, Robbo gets a better reception as a visting player than most the home players!
What do you mean you can't see what it accomplishes? This is a forum for all us amateurs to talk about football, I don't think anyone accomplishes much on here I think you're on to a loser trying to push this idea that we're being fickle. Zidane didn't get his own thread, neither did Hoddle*, neither did any of the other ex-Spurs players that have suggested Bale might leave. The reason is because no one's anywhere near as fussed because they tend to be respected or not really cared about by Spurs fans. Modric is different for the reasons I've outlined and those that I'm sure you know too. No one's said Modric had to love the club but when you sign a 6 year deal and are happy to take the pay rise that goes with it then you should also not expect to be allowed to leave one year later, just as were he to break his leg the club would not be able to cancel his contract. To then react to that news by downing tools and breaking his contract not once but twice is simply inexcusable. I don't understand why you'd want to stick up for him, he's disliked for good reason by our fans. As you say, he's doing what his new pay masters want him to do but it's not in his contract to talk up the possibility of players coming to Madrid so why not show some decency for a change, after all he's shown in the past that he feels no loyalty to the club he's contracted to(and according to you shouldn't have to). He's done it twice now, he's a ****. A very talented footballer but a **** nonetheless. *Didn't read Hoddle's quotes but I think he suggested Bale may leave for one of the Manchester clubs recently.
