Really can't see him ending up there. Other than Benitez there is nothing for him.

It does make sense though, Haven't Napoli got CL football?

What's the use in CL football if you've got no chance of ever winning it or attracting players in a year or two to make it? There's a reason top players don't go to Arsenal. Napoli are even losing their best player this summer...

Napoli aren't a bad team mate, we all know what Rafa did in his first season with us with arguably a poorer squad.

He'll get to play with the mighty Andrea Dossenna. Now if there is any reason to sign for a club surely that's it? <ok>

Napoli are losing their best players though, not keeping them. If Reina wants out, it's because he wants a new challenge at a club who are going to fill his medal cabinet up before he retires; Napoli aren't that club. Yeah, they're a step up from us atm, but he's not exactly got his whole career ahead of him to wait...

We'd just lost Michael Owen in 2004, and we still went on to win the champions league. He gets a chance to play champions league football under one of the best tacticians in that tournament, he gets to play under the manager & goalkeeping coach that got the best out of him previously at LFC. And he has a chance at winning a league title.

Its not a bad option at all for someone who's stock has fallen massively in the last couple of years due to an underperforming team, not appearing in CL or international football and due to his own personal poor form.

Hopefully he'll announce Mignolet and Henri soon <ok>

  10. Not bothered about Migs, I'd prefer Bergovic or a keeper that will cost a fraction of the price that we've never heard of that will be equally as good (ie, cut the middle mad (Sunderland and Stoke) out of the equation).

The more I hear about it the more I like the idea of signing Henri Ryan <ok>

I'd prefer Begovic too but Mignolet isn't a **** keeper, he'd be my 2nd choice. Suppose it depends how much we get for Reina if he goes which seems very likely now.

I'm hoping we sign him too, just hope we can get him for like 15-18m and not the 22 they want.

  12. I'd prefer us to find our own gems rather than buy ones that others have found. Of course, in an ideal world we would do this but keep Reina so that keeper as time to develop, aka De Gea and Lindegard <ok>

Mingolets only 24, De Gea is 22, 2 years difference. Mignolet still has time to develop, I think he's a very good keeper and would be very happy if we signed him.

We need another keeper to replace Gulasci (sp?) as well.

  14. I was thinking more about the price, £10m is a lot for a keeper! However, if Reina goes to Barca and we got £15m+ then I'll be happy with Migs or Bergs <ok>

Personally, I think we need to do something similar to when we signed Westerveld (I think it was him?), we signed Kirkland at the same time for a combined £12m <ok>

Yeh I know what you mean, but £10M isn't too bad for a proven PL player, he's young still and has plenty of time to improve as well.

The Mackems are so bitter <laugh>

Resulting to insulting people on a forum, these are grown men, really? It's laughable.

  17. I had a quick gander yesterday but didn't comment, couldn't be arsed to get involved so just had a short brief discussion with the couple of visiting Mackems on our board <ok>

Have a look quickly, it's pathetic. I try so hard to bite my lip and I do, I rarely insult people but some people are beyond pathetic.

From BBC gossip pages taken from Daily Mail.

Southampton have offered £7.6m for Valencia's Argentina midfielder Ever Banega, 24, and are also set to move for Celtic striker Gary Hooper, 25.

£7.6mil for Banega?! Would be a bargain. Guy is a class act and sure was being quoted at £20mil only a season or two back.
