Fair enough, frank. As I said, I don't bother reading it any more. Surely it's within the club's power to ban him from gobbing off all the time? Anyway, unless he sorts himself out the trouble will follow him wherever he goes so the fact that it won't be our problem, along with the dosh, is some compensation for losing an exceptional footballer.
I stopped paying attention to the Suarez saga a week ago; it got boring very fast. He'll probably leave. Fine. Let him squirm all he wants, he's not going cheaply. I don't think he's embarrassing the club so much as just embarrassing himself now.
I reckon nobody in the club is talking to him or worse are talking to his agent who's translating into what he wants the player to hear. the best thing the guy should say is i got to focus on the competition, no more questions please...... thats what a proper footballer would say anyway, frankly the uraguayan coach should be doing it for him. No more press on this till after thanks.
TBF on Suarez: his point is valid as today's example shows: Went to my sky plus ap to see what time the BBC were showing the match and the blurb reads: "Spain up against Uruguay for whom controversial striker Luis Suarez plays" I mean come on, they're even sticking it in their (sky rather than BBC ) TV listings!!! Quite ridiculous.
I just wish he would stop talking at this point, let it be done behind the scenes please. Either way, the stories with llori, Luis Alberto, Mignolet, and Mkhi being apparently close is ( if true) really good. We are looking to get this going and show we mean business, get a proper pre-season in and kick on.
Did you see the way Suarez greeted Ramos at the beginning of this match? Everyone else he shook their hands but he sort of put his arm around Ramos as if they were team mates or something Im tired and high on painkillers so I could be just being paranoid but it looked like they were pals. Ramos is at Real and as far as I know theyve never been team mates Maybe Ramos is Reals chief tapper upper
How could it be they're mates if they're? Probably Ramos and Suarez talking before the game saying how ****ing perfect it is in Madrid
I didn't see the game or the hug but I would guess that they aren't mates through football considering their backgrounds. Ramos is reknown for speaking out and generally being a ****, much like Suarez. Maybe one or the other just made a 'off the cuff comment' regarding the rumours?
As fairs fair; Suarez has spent 3 weeks crying and saying how mean everybody is to him. He's clearly been asking for a big hug....
He said he wanted to go to Real or Barca as soon as he joined us, he's been with us two and a half years and now he's made it perfectly clear that he wants to go if the opportunity is there. I think most people would also be wise enough to realise that Luis knows the opportunity is there too.
Don't buy that line Gerrez. Am I suppose to be grateful that he managed a whole two years of his original 4 year contract and a whole year of a 4/5? Contract extension he signed less than 12 months ago? He's been told publicly no from the club and that's without even having the balls to put in an official transfer request. That should be that. There's no buy out clause which he could have insisted was put in (or refused to sign an extension) if he was that "honest" about being able to go to Madrid if they came looking. Funny how the pay increase in that extension kept his mouth shut then though eh?. There was also no way he thought at the start of the season we would make CL by the end of it so I don't accept the "he deserves to play CL in his prime" bollox either. So what he committed to was a long term contract without any caveats to Liverpool FC. I actually don't care if he goes just not in this underhand manner. Man up, put in the request, lose all his payoffs & bonuses. Don't cry like a bitch all summer and make us lose more money & respect over the twat. I'm not sure I should feel sorry or see things from his point of view in any way whatsoever. Despite empty platitudes he's made it clear he's no longer loyal. So he has none of my respect anymore because he's no longer wanting to be part of our club.
TBH, I agree with every word of that. But my point wasn't to say we should accept it, be happy or even grateful because he was honest about it up front. I was merely pointing out that we all knew this would arrive eventually. Its just happened a year sooner than we probably thought. I agree he should shut the **** up but is he still talking or is it the media recycling comments? Personally, I'd not be too bothered if he went. I've been saying most of the season that Suarez has the work ethic of a team player but he is far from being one when in possession of the ball; he tries to do too much on his own and attempts it every single time which make sit predictable (not what he does with the ball, just what his intentions are). I think we can play better football when he isn't in the side.
Until September arrives, I will pretty much fully believe he is no longer going to be with us. I (again) just hope we fleece whoever for the rubles.
This has popped up in a few places online, not sure what to make of it. Torres: "I think Luis Suarez should stay (At Liverpool) or else he will regret later."
simple one ****e player to another. better to be the big fish in a small pond. Torres was lucky to go to the euros with spain and frankly those medals as a sub mean very little and well all know it. But in 20 years time when torres is sitting in madrid talking about the legendary spain team and how he's got a CL media nobody will remember....
