I'll always get behind the guys on the field, but I'm losing faith in the powers that be.

My beef on top of this decision is how the club have handled it.
Why has the news come from jk and the club said nothing??

This should have been announced via the club in full detail with pardew there to keep a united front.

But again this has been a joke And
Makes our chances of signing the players we are desperate for further away

Other clubs are getting players as is er are sitting on our arses Again

Got to say, I'm no longer sad I won't have a season ticket next year! A traditional circus is a lot cheaper (and a lot less like an actual circus, and, hating circuses like I do, this option is obviously preferable), even when you factor in the thieving midgets and gross profiteering on soft drinks.

Still nothing on the official club site. maybe it's just Kinnear going senile and thinking he's still employed at the club.

Yeah, I can see it.

Kinnear: "Alright Pards, April Fool. Ha. What? ****in' middle of ****in' June? Really. Oh ****. What a ****in' stupid **** I've been! ****!"

Only one thing Joe's capable of pulling these days, and I don't think he's up to that even.

This is like some sick joke.

I can understand the need to have a director of football whilst Pardew is in charge.

I can also understand they might want to bring in someone to look at British players considering Carr's reluctance to.

What I can't get my head round is why Kinnear. I think I would have preferred Roy Kinnear and he's been dead for several years.

Do you think they said to Pardew at that post season meeting you are going to have to accept a Director of Football or you're out. Since then they have been looking for one and been turned down by everyone they have asked until they got to Kinnear who snapped their hand off?

Just put all the ST holders numbers into a hat and pull one out and he/she'll do a better job than Joke In Ear.

I have been away at centre parks with reception on my phone and I have come back to this garbage. I am going to go back to living in a hut in the forest. There, life makes more sense. There were lots of badgers in the forest, they are black and white. I will just support the badgers from now on.

Under Mike Ashley's regime does this football club really have enough dignity left to shred up and take a huge steaming dump on?

It's almost like the Wonga deal has backfired for him with the fan-popular stunts they are pulling, so he's woke up and thought "what can I do?"

Joe Kinnear is a PR disaster and that's saying something given our current stock but more than that he's also criminally under-qualified for this made up job.
I mean, what credible and sane individual would knowingly choose to work with him? None. Whatsoever. That's why he's back here.

Not bothered about what Pardew thinks or does given this news, but it's Graham Carr I worry for and sympathise with. He won't stay reporting to this guy.

Listening to his Sky Sports interview today (which is available on the site) is a non-stop cavalcade of embarrassment.
He doesn't even know Derek Llambias' name, defaulting to 'Mike', and god forbid he seems to initially think he's "head of finance" when asked.

I mean, it shows how much contempt Ashley has for this 'business' when he's happy for JFK to shout his mouth off and officially announce the deal has been signed before the club.

My particular fave soundbite is his assertion Newcastle wouldn't have been relegated if he'd remained in charge as manager, only to contradict himself by saying at one point you could get
NUFC "at a million to one to stay up" – I mean we knew it looked unlikely at the time, but don't rub it in Joe.

And frankly, if he's right and he really is the most knowledgeable footballing person at "Newcastle Football Club" these days then it just explains why last season was so woeful.

Oh and for the record apparently he didn't relegate Luton Town. It NEVER happened folks, move along nowt to see. No worries, he'll get a chance to refresh his memory of that experience.

He'll be our gaffer again by xmas...

Whatever next? Nile Ranger back as Academy Councillor?

I just head JK on SSN.
If he is as arrogant as he sounds, then God help you guys next season.

A few of his claims today:

I know I am a good tactician
I know a good player when I see one
I have more football knowledge than anyone else at the club (and that's not being disrespectful.)
I will do whatever it takes to get Newcastle up again.

Doesn't sound like he is going to stay away from the pitch too much.

Still no word from the club? This has to be either the funniest joke in many a year by JK, an old man completing losing his marbles or an absolute shambles of an appointment by the club. Its bad enough if we have turned to JK, but the handling of the appointment if true has been nothing short of Sunday league. Ashley is one crazy fool.

I know many are uspet but I can't help but laugh at this turn of events. It is surreal. Possible reasons.

1. Ashley didn't insert the clauses we all thought he had and is trying to find a way to get Pards to walk
2. Ashley is just really bored and felt things needed a bit of mixing up again
3. They actually believe JK to be a tactical genius that can offer world class support to Pards
4. Maybe this is just JK having been on an all night bender with Ashley/Derek, things have got out of hand but JK can handle his drink. Everything discussed has been noted and signed on a casino napkin, Ashley waking up to a new appointment he knew little about.

JK's interview is just golden and makes me suspect number 1. He is literally saying Pards is useless, I'm a better manager and he has bought a load of useless french ****s. Maybe they have asked Pards to fall on his sword and he has said no, there is no gambling debt and he has his cock firmly lodged in Ashleys fat cheeks.

I personally think it is a clever plan to get Pardew to walk.
His authority is now usurped.

Clever? What part's clever?

Phase one - hire someone unfathomably incompetent to utterly degrade and undermine Pardew, thus getting him to walk out and sue for constructive dimissal.

Phase two - Put Kinnear in charge.

Phase three - do something about the voices in my head

Phase four - the voices don't like phase three.

Phase five - kill them all.

WTF?? The appointment of Joe Kinnear as Director of Football by Ashley, and Kinnear's strong statement regarding transfer policy is clearly a tactic to unsettle Pardew. You can only think the end game is to get the Manager to quit.

Ashley made a spectacular boob when he gave Pardew an unprecedented eight year contract, and after last season's struggles the Chairman seems to have lost his nerve, and in a hissy fit has withdrawn his support for Pardew. He needs Pardew to quit, and all this with so many years still left on the Manager's contract.

Expect an unhappy season ahead at Newcastle, can't see Pardew taking this lying down. Kinnear is not going to take the Toon forward, and Ashley seems to be back to his irrational ways once again. He doesn't have the money of Abramovich to be petulant though.

Oh well, suppose Toon will tell us it's a nice problem to have compared to Leeds who have invisible owners with no money at all.
