due to religion right? Either way, they have a point.

Have they sorted their CB sitaution out yet btw?

  7. Unless there is something in their contracts regarding religion and beliefs etc then I don't think they have a point at all. they are paid a lot of money to play for that club so they should shut the **** up and get on with it.

I don't agree with a club having loan companies, advertising gambling and alcohol or cigarettes as a sponsor but that is a different matter.

So it's alright to play a sport and earn thousand knowing that there are millions of pound bet on you each week through countless betting companies, but not alright to have the name of that company on your shirt...

If you're not happy, change career to something which gambling isn't a large part of - unless of course, you're content earning your 100k a week.

I have very little patience for religious beliefs when it comes to things like this.

I think there should be some sort of rule to state that you can't have a sponsor that has an age limit of 18+ for. Let's be honest, kids are the ones that are more easily influence by adverts/sponsorship than adults so why would you want to advertise your company on a shirt to which most of the time will be worn and looked at by kids, who won't even be able to use your product?

    Fair point.

Alcohol sponsors are not allowed on child sized shirts already.

Which is why I'm surprised that they actually sponsor teams as you're cutting down on at least 50% of potential shirts that your name could be on.

seems hypocritical to me that the government are going on about cigarette advertising, yet this type ie loan sharks gambling etc seems not so much an issue, surely this is worst with the state of the economy and vulnerable people who are desperate.

just fecking wrong, but then the whole world is a fecked up place any way as far as morals go.

they hide cigs behind a plain cupboard in shops now days, yet this type of advertising is allowed.

Yep, it's outrageous! Especially the whole gambling thing nowadays - every other advert involves online casino's, poker, betting aps etc.

IMO the gambling thing is different than just saying 'drink Carling' for example because they actually goad their audience with live bets and enhanced odds - picking on the vulnerable, make no mistake about it.

    this one is simply astounding.

Mike Ashley is really one for odd decisions it seems.

And yes i agree what i call legal loan sharks with interest rates that utterly scare me should not even be trading let alone advertising in football. The bank of england actually regulates these robbers.

That and "free bets" incentives when you join. 50% of adverts in the half time breaks are for bookies, and most broadcasters are actually sponsored by Ladbrokes or whatever.

I daren't go to the geordie board as i'd imagine it being similar to when you're driving down the motorway and you see a crash on the side of the road.... except this crash is a 14 car pile up...

I wonder if the below still applies??

Kinnear can help NUFC attract world class players. Wise choice. <ok>

P.S. Talking of Wise choices, why don't they bring back Dennis Wise to work along side JK?
