agree about Boyd, as talented as I think he is it's hard to see him in any formation other than part of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 behind the striker. lovely player to have to replace Aluko if needs be though.
Looks more likely to be McGregor in goal. I think the defensive midfielder will be one of three, either: Bridcutt, Cattermole or Watson. As for a loan signing from the big 3/4 I wouldn't mind seeing us make a loan enquiry for Buttner from Man Utd - play him at wing-back and have Brady just inside him on the left of a central 3. He's also admitted to being homesick, we could stick him in a building of Dutch architecture and let him go on the Pride of Rotterdam during international breaks
I'm sure we can play 11 reasonable players but when injuries, suspensions and loss of form kick in we will need a bigger squad.
