Browny built a team capable of getting us to the Premier League - First difference. This is complete bollocks based on pure speculation, the only pics of Ash and Bullard drinking where from when they went to Vegas, in the summer. Of course you'll get an "insider" agreeing with you in a second though. That decision cost our club around £60m, it's all too easy for AP fans to just skim over it, but it's the reason the club ended up in the position it was in. It was an egotistical move from a man who was way out of his depth. What was that? Getting injured, or just more bollocks from people who like to pretend they know what's going in the club? I don't blame NP at all for the Bullard situation, I doubt he had a choice. Let's not forget though that NP and AP got us to near the dropzone in the first place, then got us to a mediocre midtable position, hardly an achievement. Any need? Really, what's wrong with having a grown up conversation? Why are you so averse to it?
Yes but everyone knows his injury record, hence why no club with any sense is offering him a contract! It would be naive to think he could repeat his tme at Ipswich, his knees seem to get weaker when he's in East Yorkshire (or near Scott Parker)
Most people accept Dowie was a poor decision, AP messed up there but most people don't hold a grudge against him on that one. We were probably going down anyway, so it would cost us £60 million reagardless. It took Brownie 2 seasons to get us to the PL, we can get there under NP, give the bloke a chance and time and get your nose out of Brown's arse. Brownie and Duffen made a lot of mistakes, we were in the financial **** before Pearson came in again so you can't blame AP on that one. One of those such mistakes was giving an injury prone player a lucrative contract and signing average players for inflated prices with stupid wages. We all knew that to ease the financial situation we had to get rid of the high earners, Bullard's contract was not sustainable in the Championship. Maybe the club could have handled it better, but i don't think Jimmy did himself any favours most of the time. I would also like to remind you that once NP began buying his own team (Stewart, Chester, Fryatt, Evans etc) we moved away from the drop zone, it's no coincidence that once he got the players he wanted we improved. He was stuck with a poor squad, used to losing after their time in the PL and players who weren't playing for the shirt (Zayatte and Gardner at Millwall and Donny away) He's still building the squad he wants, most people feared the worst at the start of last season, you can't claim that the poor start came as a suprise. We left it too late for a charge for the play offs, had we had the form we had from Christmas all season we would have been in the play offs. Your irational hatred of the clubs hierarchy and fondness for the previous regime seems to be clouding your judgement on a lot of things happening at the club at present, we are moving forward with a chance of going up, yet you seem intent on remaining the pessimist. Most people want a sensible conversation, but when you make stab in the dark statements and leave patronising comments it gets on people's wick, hence the name calling (which isn't necessarily right).
I might not need to post in them TWF unlike yourself who uses every Bullard thread to wum and troll to the max, there was a thread the other week for Bullard exclusively unfortunately toolbars like yourself just keep posting about the ginger muppet at every opportunity turning every thread into a joke.
Bullard's in the title... I suppose you're now gonna find the last thread which I turned into a Bullard thread though, seen as though I do it all the time it shouldn't take you long.
Putting everything which has happened over the past couple of year behind us. On paper, would anyone be that disappointed to see a midfield pairing of Bullard and Oli? Again, on paper, that should tear up most teams in this league. Whether it would ever happen or not is another thing, it's just so gutting we have 2x of the best midfielders in this league and we dont\cant use them. Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon Stewart Bullard Oli *Winger* Fryatt Simpson NOTE: I feel this post needs some sort of disclaimer lol. I dont want any Bullard bashers replying, I too thing he has been a complete **** during his time with City. I suppose this is all hypothetical really
If his heart was in it and he was fit. The two of them would be like two new signings and better than the uncreative rubbish we have in the middle at the moment. So yes irrespective of money and the past. I would like it, only if they want to be here that is.
You can't post this, the uniform opinion is that JB is bad for the club and that is what we will all opine. Someone will be along shortly to tell you you've got to hate him. Personally, I don't think Oli offers that much on the pitch and would support us getting rid of him. But I'm sort of split on JB, if it puts us in a noticably stronger financial position then I'd be happy to see him go but it just hurts that we so badly need a playmaker and we have the best one in the division at our disposal. So unless it allows us to sign 3 or 4 key players (ie Danns) then I would keep hold of him.
Oli didn't impress me whenever I saw him play for Cardiff, Bullard is obviously very good but he is clearly not wanted at the club, and rightly so. Plus, that would be a midfield partnership costing of how much per week? 70k? Simply can't afford it
Ok, so say come the start of the season we have no interest in either Bullard or Oli. The Allams have already said they wont subsidise any further loan moves so we are stuck with them both. Would you rather be stuck with them doing a job on the pitch, or just let them pick up their wages every week for doing sweet FA. We all know whats gone on in the past and I'm not expecting them both to come back and set the world alight, I'm just talking about in an ideal world
Not again, there's about twenty threads on this already, it's been done to death. Jimmy and Oli won't be here next season, it doesn't matter how good they, they're not in our plans, they're on too much money and they'll soon be history. I'm merging this thread with one of the others.
The problem is it would take a quarter of a million quid a month to keep these two players and if JB gets injured again and Oli do'nt do it then we could'nt afford anybody at all this summer and might have to sell a couple. Given Jimmy's injury record do you want to put all your eggs in one basket? Or maybe we should gamble on some youth that might get us to the prem and be able to stay with us and perform up there. He is obviously a talented player but he will cost us 4.5 million quid over the next two years and have absolutely no resell value at all at 34. The club is going for youth now and I applaud that, I think thats the way should be progressing not hoping and praying one player does'nt get hurt and risk it all on one toss of the dice to get promoted next year. See I'm not bashing Bullard here but I think the club can do way better without him, let some other club that wants instant sucess gamble on him
I thought Amoo and Akpan were fairly poor, Bostock was just the wrong player at the wrong time and I wouldn't have Evans on that list at all.
Yeah I sort of agree about Bostock actually, at times in the second half of the season we could have done with him. Evans I just think is boring boring boring. Really average midfielder a bit like Olifinjana, with no clear role and no one really has any idea what he brings to the team (if anything). He doesn't **** up all the time like Harper he's just average. My point in relation to the thread was that it'd take 10 Evans' to fill JB's shoes and I'll only be happy with JB's departure if he's replaced by 3 or 4 quality players, unlike those in the list.
