First you try and belittle me for being a student now for working at a fast food restaurant? (Nothing wrong with that by the way) As it turns out it's on a graduate scheme at a S&P 100 so Can't be as daft as you seem to be making out!
A damn fine achievement indeed, old bean Managing to leave the bathroom with a clean nipsy is quite something
Nothing wrong at all with working at a fast food restaurant. Or any other job. Many millionaires started out by doing jobs at the bottom. People who do any job rather than lounge about are to be commended. It was just a light hearted remark. Perhaps a bit of elasticity in the leg would help? However qualifications are not always a sign of intelligence or common sense. Bill Shankly once remarked he didn't get an education so he had to use his brains. You can see what he meant just by a quick glance at people in certain jobs purely because of paper qualifications compared to others with practical experience.
No idea what S&P 100 is but presumably it's meant to 'blow our socks' off. The thing is it doesn't mean the job is well paid or a good one.
Not really, just trying to make a point that not all students avoid tax and leach of their parents forever.
S&P stands for Standard And Poor and the S&P 100 are the top one hundred companies in the US. Though to work for an S&P 100 company, you could get a job at Asda, Starbucks, or McDonalds.
The stereotypical student is culpable of many things, taxing dodging and leeching off their parents are a long way down the list below things like complacency, naivety, sanctimoniousness, unworldliness and utter ****ishness.
Just to clarify, it was me not PLT that closed the other thread. With hindsight I possibly should have deleted it. I'll leave this open for discussion on moderation, but if it drits into politics/racism,, I'll close it. Roll on football topics.
Does my tits in to be honest. There are a lot of idiots in all walks of life, I don't understand why Students get a bad rep based on the minority who go with little interest in studying.
I closed the one after that where Castro tried to confront Stan on it. For what it's worth I agree that it was a strange accusation and Stan should really explain it, but we can't have 15 threads discussing it.
I get 25k per year from benefits including job seekers, I am also a self employed painter and decorator who works for cash in hand generating an approximate 25k per year tax free, I also buy and sell luxury second hand cars tax free, I drive a Mercedes SLS AMG, I hate black people for being black, go to every EDL rally, and vote BNP every election. Oh and I hate Gok Wan, because he's a gay bell end. Can someone please tell me what my position is in this debate? Thanks. Edit: forgot to mention I don't have car insurance either.
I've seen a lot of places where students are fast-tracked into roles that are beyond them. The theoretical world is one thing, the real world is another. People are sceptical of the worth of words from students, many of whom are virgins, non tax paying, non shaving, puny, humourless, geeky types who have to cadge lifts off lesser mortals who have however graduated from the University of Life, to get to their place of work
