same reason Liverpool could still attract good players when they were 12th ish heritage, amazing fans and a quality stadium (for us at least)

Plus every player who signs gets a free hat from Shola.

Like seriously what more could they want.

This is another thing which reaffirms my belief that we're a much bigger and more renowned club than Sunderland.

I mean no disrespect to Sunderland and this isn't a dig, but I don't think that a number of European players will have even heard of Sunderland AFC. But really, can you blame them? Sunderland have always been mid-table or lower, they've never played in Europe and they've never been linked to any big-money European players. Nothing has happened which has put them on the map in any way, so unless someone purposely looks at all the teams in the EPL, how would they know of them in any real way?

Oh, and I forgot to mention that we've had managers like Kevin Keegan and Sir Bobby. Both former England managers and both very well-known in European football. Definitely helped us.

I think the support is massively important in drawing targeted players here, and we may have a wage cap in force but unlike clubs like Man City and Chelsea, players are more likely to establish themselves in the team rather than warming the bench. How many players have we heard of late threatening to leave their clubs if they don't play more.

    Isn't Donna Air a mackem?

Anyway, judging by all the French speakers on the radar it seems like our main attraction is the threat of a Cheik Tiote beating if they don't come.

You know what they say; "You don't look at the mantle when you're poking the fire"... I wouldn't care if I was poking the fire. I'd have to get her to lie though when we were out in public. That goes without saying.

A "party city" is also a good tag to have for young, mainly single men.

Also the white sands of Tynemouth beach
